| lol, you had to go there! Reply Back to Top |
| Our central midfield needs an upgrade, but that's been discussed for three years now. Always sucks when you have to trot Jonny Efans out there in central defense, way too many injuries back there. Ah, Nani got torched in the first half by Vertonghen. That wasn't pretty. I'd like to be able to score 2 or 3 and win, but it looks like we're going to have to simply outscore opponents for now. Defense too leaky, especially early in matches. Reply Back to Top |
quote: It's like knowing your least favorite person has aids and has to live with it. Evans or as Fergie would say "the best defender in England" is just god awful. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Hate him. He has done nothing positive for United since he joined the club. I'd rather trot out a youth prospect in his place. You know what he's gonna do: Make rash, idiotic challenges in the box...two-footed challenges in the open field...and get totally out of position when you need him just to provide some sort of presence. He sucks. Reply Back to Top |
| Searching "jonny evans red card" is like searching for "victims of holocaust" in the similarities of the atrocities. Reply Back to Top |
| Getting rooney back should help, probably gonna have to play possession even more until some defenders get healthy. I agree with you guys about evans, never thought I would miss wes brown but I would take him over evans I think.... Reply Back to Top |
| Once again, Jonny Evans, I HATE YOU. Reply Back to Top |
| that was absolutely pathetic on every level. I'm slightly stealing this next bit from the Saints Board Inanimate objects as replacements for Jonny Evans: Option #1: Sub a banana peel Evans. You place this bad boy at the edge of the penalty box and let the opposing striker run up and down the line until he trips and breaks his leg, but not for a Red Card because it's not a person! Option #2: The entire collection of The Wire on DVD/Blu Ray for Jonny Evans. Both have 5 seasons, but you'd never know it. Put the box set next to Ferdinand or other CD, ain't nobody shooting through the middle. That shite is dense. Reply Back to Top |

| If Evans plays any worse I think even a a toddler can play better than him... Listened to today's match at work and all I can say is really... Fergie needs to bench him soon ... As stated above if we don't score 2 or 3 goals a game we are screwed.... Reply Back to Top |
| Hey warslameagle... When does the winter transfer window open? Maybe we can get rid of Evans then? Reply Back to Top |
| Fergie won't let him go. He loves Jonny. He also thinks that Fletcher and Scholes can be starting midfielders. The man's a legend, but he's not exactly the smartest manager alive. Reply Back to Top |
| i'd venture to bet he knows a little bit more about what he's doing than you.. he's more qualified than a rando message board poster, bud. This post was edited on 10/2 at 7:43 pm Reply Back to Top |
quote: After lurking for some time and now posting a bit more I would say that most on here actually have a decent soccer IQ. What we don't know is what SAF is doing behind the scenes to address the mid problem. Perhaps he did try to bring in a Moutinho or martinez? After all he did bring in kagawa who looks a good attacking center mid from what I have seen thus far. He also upgraded our strikers with RVP, perhaps knowing our D was not able to be addressed just yet. There may be a method to the madness.... Reply Back to Top |
quote: Oh, no doubt he knows a lot more than me...but you have to admit that over the years some of his selections and roster decisions have been head-scratchers. Don't take this as me saying that SAF doesn't know the game or I'm some genius...but no manager, even with the accolades SAF has, makes all the right calls. It's just that some of his commitments to guys like Evans frustrate me. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yeah, I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes at OT. I hope he tried real hard to get Moutinho or a player like him...it's just that fans have been calling for a central midfield upgrade for three years now and we haven't seen any improvements (Kagawa was a great buy, but he plays more of an advanced role...we need a ball-winner or a box-to-box right now). SAF is a legend and will go down as one of the greatest managers ever. But he's not perfect and I tend to be a little more vocal than most United fans about our roster gaps and peculiar selections. At least I'm not the guy who got #SACKFERGIE trending on Twitter following the Spurs loss. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I completely agree and I have been begging for this as well. One thing to remember is Hargreaves could have very well been the staff's long term replacement for scholes and it did not pan out due to injuries and such. Things happen.....it is easy to see though something must be done. Chelsea was at there best when they played through Makelele back in the day, and you can see the positive impact on city with Yaya. quote: Agreed quote: At least......lol. I think of it this way, if you tried and were for whatever reason unable to upgrade the D, the next best thing is to get someone to help you outscore ppl which is what we did in signing RVP.
