| (Record related) Brees is in a way blocking Brady from unanimous GOAT status. Posted by FleuryNipples I bet Brady wishes that drew would've been born a girl in some third world country instead of as an American male football player. People sometimes make a case that Brady is the best ever. Imagine in a world with no Brees, Brady would have: 3 rings, 5AFC titles in 10 years, touchdowns in a season record, the unbeatable Marino record, then in about 13 games Brady would overtake the unbeatable Unitas record, etc etc...  on 10/2 at 5:32 pmBrees to Brady is kinda like the Rafael Nadal to Roger Federer. Federer is called the GOAT by many, but you could make the point "How is he the GOAT, if he's not the greatest of this current playing generation. Nadal is a thorn in his side" (he doesnt have 3 rings, but IMO Brees is better than Brady) Brees is the cock-block to Brady's absolute ownage of the history books  Super stoked about Brees breaking the record this Sunday. I just hate how Tom Brady is lingering only 11 or 12 games back with an active streak. Hopefully Drew doesn't lay an egg before him, then Brady will surpass it within a season. Damn Brady always taking some of Drew's glory away. Last year by also beating Marino's yardage record. | It's just agrevating because if Brady is doing it too, they try to give less of the credit to Brees. They instead say, "well since two guys are surpassing this record, it's only because the game has changed and rules now favor the passer" See example "Brees breaking Marino's record is good, but three guys threw for over 5,000 yards the same season last year.
