BR food trucks What's the BR food truck scene look like theses days? What kinds of food or noteworthy sandwiches/dishes are must try's? Reply Back to Top
i tried shallow cats saturday night and it was pretty good. some badass nachos and a cajun poboy. it had cajun turkey, cajun ham, roast beef, bacon and provolone. Reply Back to Top
Curbside for burgers, Taco de Paco for soft tacos(very good but over-priced), and The Cuban Connection for a change of pace(very good). There are another half dozen trucks I haven't tried yet, but the rumor is that they are generally good. Reply Back to Top

The Igneious Reilly truck is awesome. They have an Eggs Cancienne dish that is absolutely delicious if you ever catch them around breakfast/brunch time. They have an excellant pork sandwich as well. They usually camp out in front of Perkins Palms on Saturdays, but they've been out of commission the last few weeks because of a generator issue (per their Facebook page). If you ever get the chance to try them or Curbside, do yourself a favor and stop. I'm not a huge fan of the the others I've had. Taco de Paco is just not very good in my opinion (and overpriced), and the Cuban Connection is just not my thing. Reply Back to Top
It's been a while since we had a good old fashioned BR food truck debate on here. Reply Back to Top
do they have a smoker on site or do they do their pulled pork in the oven? Reply Back to Top
quote: I don't have any idea how they do it, but if I had to guess I would say that they probably smoke a few butts, pull them and leave the meat in a warming tray in the truck. Reply Back to Top |

quote: Some friends of mine just moved back to BR after being out of town for 4 or 5 years. They said they ready the Best of 225 article and were really sad about all the winners. I don't care how "scientific" it is, it makes BR look terrible. And I'm not really talking about the food truck category. Reply Back to Top |
Boo, 225 is a fricking joke. Has been for a decade. Reply Back to Top

Every city in the US has a "225", I don't see the issue with it. It's not trying to be a bastion of journalistic integrity. It's an advertiser driven fish rag like 90% of all media. Reply Back to Top
Oh you have to be shitting me.. Taco De Paco took out an ad in 225? Reply Back to Top Refresh
