| Posting about Non-Profit Fundraisers Posted by Bowe Knows Chicken, Just to follow up on your comments in MeauxJeaux's thread, what, if anything, can I post about our non-profit's fundraiser on the Ticket Exchange? I have read the Guidelines and Terms of Use and don't see anything that covers this area. Last year, my church (Mulberry Baptist in Houma) held a fundraiser using eBay to raise money for mission work in Haiti. We are a small church, so we decided to use eBay because we don't have the resources to host a 5K or live event. We had some LSU Season Tickets donated and came up with the concept to "Stay Home for Haiti" where people who had Saints or LSU tickets could donate a game that they couldn't attend or chose not to attend. In 2011, I had hoped to make one post on the Ticket Exchange and requested a "sticky" in order to keep from posting or bumping. I think that post was deleted or anchored. So I started responding when people were looking for season tickets or individual game tickets that we had auctions running. Our 2nd Annual auction will be from August 11-21. And we already have items (and are colecting more) that would appeal to almost every board: Tiger Rant/Ticket Exchange: LSu Season Tickets, Pre-Game On Field Passes, Parking Passes, Signed Items, Tour of athletic complex Saints: Tickets, Parking Passes, Signed Items Hornets: Tickets More Sports: Condo in FQ for Super Bowl, Tons of signed golf items and Masters flag Outdoor Board: Charter Fishing trips, Condos in Gulf Shores and Big Sky, Montana Movie/TV Board: Signed items from Beasts of Southern Wild Music Board: Tickets and Meet/Greet with Chris Tomlin Food/Drink Board: Cooking experiences Ticket Exchange: See all above Once again, I would love to be able to make one small thread and have a "sticky" during our auction. That could be just in the ticket exchange. I wouldn't expect you to do it sitewide (although that would be awesome...). I will be glad to submit anything you need in order for you to realize this is legit. I understand the need to protect your readers. We have no administrative costs. 100% of the proceeds goes to mission work. Last year, we raised $63,000 and our only expenses were domain registration and credit card fees through Pay Pal and some small listing fees through eBay. eBay was really great with us. They discovered us while we were running and ran some articles. They even sent a camera crew here and used our story in a few videos they produced. Here are some links that tell our story. Please feel free to respond or contact me at my TD email. | Bowe... was gonna ask this same thing. Hopefully we can place threads on the Ticket Exchange. You got a ton of cool stuff! Best of luck! ETA: Seriously? This thread got the anchor on the help board? Hopefully they have emailed you directly... ![]() This post was edited on 7/14 at 3:13 pm Reply Back to Top |
| Nobody emailed me. Nobody responded to my direct emails. Nobody has responded in these posts. Saddens me really. I thought this was a "Help" Board. Can't believe it is anchored either. Makes no sense. Maybe they thought it was a multiple thread. But I was pretty clear I didn't want to hijack your thread. Your cause and your family need all the attention it can get. Needs no distraction from me. Good luck, meauxjeaux. Maybe we can start another thread asking about just posting! Reply Back to Top |
