| The Foster negative effect.. Posted by Toughcrittercrumb1 Does that Bama more desirable to Beckwith?Reply Back to Top |
| One of the better Bama posters said that they play two separate slots, so it prob doesn't draw Beckwith all that much. But, the feeling I get is that he liked Bama before the flip. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by CamdenTiger on 7/12 at 8:34 pm to Toughcrittercrumb1 If we get Williams, we are set at DE, with a shot at Prevot who is a better hybrid than Beckwith.. Loaded up with better LB's in last class. Not a loss IMO. I like the kid,but just bigger needs IMO.Reply Back to Top |
quote: Exactly. Williams and Gilmore are the must gets at the end of the class. I'd rather get Williams and Gilmore and the rest 5.7s than not get those guys and the others 5.9s. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I'm the same way. He's a hell of an athlete but I've called him this year's Denzel Duval. He seems like he's quietly going to go to Bama, cause it's probably just where he fits better anyway. Reply Back to Top |

| Isn't LSU recruiting him at LB? I didn't think he was a big time prospect until I saw his junior film. Beckwith is very good plus I don't like to see any in state kid go to Bama when he has a commitable offer from Flagship U. Reply Back to Top |
| F that, i want them all! IMO i like KB. dudes a beast. plus he's instate Reply Back to Top |
| Lsu fans are whiners. The barber shop guy is the reason KB is a Bama lock? I will choose to consider the source. My source is sonny and sonny says lsu right now. So book that. Reply Back to Top |
| If anything, the loss of Foster assures a spot for Walker Jones (brother of Barrett and Harrison Jones). Reply Back to Top |
quote: Thanks. I had asked about this in a thread earlier. There was speculation before that if Beckwith tried to commit to Bama he'd be turned down. Do you know how true that is? His recruitment worries me because he's not at a position of need. If we don't get him, we're not offering another OLB. That could be good for our cause, but it also could be played against us. | you are 100% right..Gilmore, Williams are must gets on D-Line.. With either Pagnano, crayton, possibly at DT.. If we dont land beckwith i could see prevot(if we land him) or possibly neal end up at OLB.. i have a feeling neal will end up there anyway and if so will be a beast!! | Greg Gilmore. Monster DT from N Carolina. Muschamp and The Hobbit are also after his services. He has a good rapport/relationship with Chief and Brick. We've been showing love for quite sometime. Many say he's a "silent commit", but, never count your chickens in the fickle world of recruiting. Reply Back to Top |
| Foster would be a MLB. Beckwith a Jack. That's like saying they lost a WR so would the school look better to a CB? They wouldn't be competing for the same position. Reply Back to Top |
| I dunno. This is just opinion only, but I think Gilmore is waiting on a green light from Bama. Hope I'm wrong. Reply Back to Top |
| Is that just a feeling, Ed? Have you heard anything to support that? I know he did love his Tuscaloosa visit. Reply Back to Top |
| I think it could make Beckwith more appealing to Bama , not the other way around. He already likes Bama a lot but he doesn't have a commitable offer at this point. That could change. I also hear from good Bama people that he is not a Jack. He's a Sam, at least as a projection. He could end up at Jack but that's not his spot. I will say though that it's hard to really know which player is being recruited at which LB position at Bama. Some will tell you that Jonathon Allen is an ILB commit when he clearly is an ideal Jack. I'm curious as to where they're recruiting Matthew Thomas. He's not much different than Kwon Alexander and all we heard last year was that he was too small to play LB at Bama. Thomas is the same size if not smaller. I don't think Gilmore is waiting on Bama but you never know. I believe him when he says he's just waiting to get momma to BR. That's rare for me because I don't believe much that comes from recruit's mouths. Reply Back to Top |
