Posted by matthew25 I have seen on several message boards that some med students will drop out of school b/c of Justice Robert's opinion. Why give up the Mercedez for you and the squeeze, and the BMW's for the children? Reply Back to Top |
| Honestly considering going back for pharmacy school. The gov't is gonna be blowing up the medicine balloon full of money!!!!! Reply Back to Top |
| Why would this bill hurt doctors? It just gave the entire medical industry millions of new patients Reply Back to Top |

| It will hurt them in the long run when this collapses into a single payer system and doctors get reimbursed at Medicaid type rates... Reply Back to Top |
| Ummm.... Because there isn't enough money to pay current rates for all these new patients... Reply Back to Top |
quote:Know any doctors without enough patients? So they got new patients, that will be underpaying overhead. Hooray! I suppose they will lose money on every new patient, but hopefully they'll make up the profit on volume. Is that your idea? Reply Back to Top |

quote: No, the government will subsidize those who wouldn't be able to afford the care Reply Back to Top |
quote: Medicaid and Medicare patients are already subsidized, and every doctor I know is losing money treating them. My wifes primary care doctor just closed his practice and started a "private members only" operation. You pay a yearly membership fee, and a small fee at the timew of treatment. He will no longer have to deal with insurance, medicaid, or medicare. My primary care physican closed his practice and retired rather than spend the money required to convert ot ACA mandated electronic medical records. Reply Back to Top |
| None of your family has ever practiced medicine. A private practice doctor has overhead cost which has to paid off before opening his first day. Do you have a spare 50K for insurance, another 50 for that nurse, (we will leave off the cost of the building and utilities and student loans will also be ignored)? As I said yesterday GO to a DAWG board. Reply Back to Top |
quote: The wonderful generous government doesn't even cover overhead for most docs in larger cities. Do you understand that simple fact? Reply Back to Top |

| No doubt. Reply Back to Top |
| Well for one, most doctors starting out today will never earn enough to have a mercedes for themselves, one for their spouse and a BMW for their kids. Second, most docs today are already overworked and their compensation is getting cut on a regular basis. Now they will be forced to care for millions more patients basically for free. Good things ahead for the medical profession Reply Back to Top |
quote: Forced.. in what way? Reply Back to Top |
| Somebody has to see them. Reply Back to Top |
