The Rangers signed Perez, 21, as a free agent out of Venezuela in 2007. He entered this season as Texas' third highest-rated prospect and No. 31 overall, according to Baseball America.

Perez is 5-5 with a 4.59 ERA in 15 starts for Round Rock this season but has pitched much better of late. He registered one of his best starts of the season this past Thursday, going nine innings and allowing two runs on three hits. He walked two, struck out four and needed just 90 pitches in the complete game.

He's probably going to get a spot start for Grimm after he tanked yesterday. Can't see them keeping him around longer unless they want to get him some work with Maddux.

The good news is he is only 21

Bad news is he has been bad in AAA ball. He hasnt been striking people out and posted a 6.43 ERA in 10 starts last year and a 4.60 ERA this season.

We will see how it goes.

Yea it was actually 84IP, but Bauer Ks way more so he can afford to walk a few
