| re: What's the best thing to make .gifs with? Yea I have adobe CS5 but have no idea how to use it yet This post was edited on 6/15 at 7:15 am Reply Back to Top |
Posted by alfredblueforheisman on 6/15 at 8:27 am to TheNotoriousGOP I started tinkering with AFter effects. Christ that shite is complicated, since I have zero experience with adobe or rendering software. Some of it is easy in concept, but I still get choppy feeds. This also makes me appreciate some of the pro's (Rattle, Vol, GOP, etc) here work even more! A question I have in AE is, can you "stick" an image to a video clip? LIke for instance you have an animated gif: And you want to stick, for example, Obama, onto Ronald Mcdonalds face. Do you have to go frame by frame and reinsert the obama image into the clip? Doing it this way makes it come out choppy if it's not the exact size and the transitions make it choppy. Or is there a way to attach an image of obama onto Ronald McDonald's face and have it appear throughout? This post was edited on 6/15 at 8:29 am Reply Back to Top |

quote: Right now I just work with Elements 10. But I think I might be able to get cs5 for free. Is After Effects that GOP was talking about included with that or is that something that is purchased separately? Reply Back to Top |
quote: Old ImageReady features are included in CS5; AE is a completely different program. Photoshop is geared towards photos, AE is more for video. You don't need AE it to make gifs. Reply Back to Top |
| What version of After Effects do you have AlfredBlue because every version after CS5 comes with Mocha Tracker built into it, so you have two trakers to choose from..I usually use Mocha, but the point tracker After Effects includes is decent too. Reply Back to Top |

Wtching the tutorial Vol posted. Trying to attach it to the Null layer. I can do the motion tracking where it finds the pixel point, but it doesnt quite move the image of the face with the face in the gif. If that makes sense. Reply Back to Top |
quote: OkayI just watched his tutorial to see what you were looking at. I am not sure I can explain it any better than he has. Just re-watch him again and work along with him pausing the vid as needed. 1. track your clip 2.create null object 3. In tracker windowhit the "edit target" button and in the drop down select the null object layer. 4. In the tracker window hit "apply" in the drop select in the x and y option. 5. you will now see the null object is moving with your tracked data. 6. Parent the null to the object you want to move. After you parent it you can set its initial position by hand by moving its layer...not the null layer...if you hand move the null you are screwing up the tracked data. Hope this helps. | Ok guys maybe somebody who uses GIMP can help me What I've decided to do is download a software that extracts the frames. So I chose a 3 second clip from another workaholics episode and it came out to 172 frames. The problem is, is when I pull in the 172 frames into GIMP, I can't figure out how to get all the frames (layers) into one thing so I can click "Filters>animation>optimize for .gif" is any of what I'm saying making sense. It's kind of hard to describe what I'm saying, but basically when I upload all the pics into GIMP, they are all separated and I need them to all be together so I can "optimize for .gif" for all of them, not just one frame Reply Back to Top |
| Ok. I figured out how to save it correctly. What I was doing wrong was when it was asking me to export the images first, I wasn't selecting save as animation or something anyway, next problem I had was that my gif was 15MB so it had problems finding a image hosting site that had that high of limit. I tried, photo bucket, imageshack, and imgur. I finally found fliiby.com and that has a pretty high limit. I still haven't gotten the speed down yet, but this is better i think. Thanks for the help y'all This post was edited on 6/15 at 6:48 pm Reply Back to Top |
| I can't see it/access the file. Looks like it's private. Does fliiby have a way to public share? Reply Back to Top |

| wait you can't see the gif I posted? Reply Back to Top |
Nope... ![]() Reply Back to Top |
can you see this one? It's still not the quality it should be. I think I am loosing the quality when I export the frames using something called "movieDek" it doesn't give you the option to export anything other than .jpeg files Reply Back to Top |
| ok. now i can see 'em both Reply Back to Top |
