| Terrible showing for Venus, although Radwanska is very good. Reply Back to Top |

Posted by Unbiased Bama Fan on 5/31 at 5:03 am to bobbyray21 Yeah, I have a feeling he'll be gone before the semis as well. Berdych is certainly playing very well right now.Reply Back to Top |

| Isner is a cool customer. He has a real knack for busting out an ace or service winner when he's facing a break point. Reply Back to Top |
| Isner may be in for another marathon match. Reply Back to Top |

quote: She is not close to being in the argument. You have to be younger than 25 because you can't be this tennis ignorant. quote: No, it's quite accurate really, but I see you didn't refute that she is a sore loser, which makes her a disgrace. Reply Back to Top |
quote: You're wrong on both counts, and you're a moron. The Alien Test: aliens have invaded Earth. They bring out their best female tennis player and challenge us earthlings to a tennis match. The fate of the world is at stake. We win, they leave. We lose, we all die. The aliens are nice enough to give us a time machine so we can go back and grab any female player in the middle of her prime, and bring her back to play against the alien. Under these hypothetical conditions, who do you choose to play the alien in tennis? Remember, the fate of the world is at stake. Me? I don't even have to contemplate this question. Approximately 0.002 seconds after the alien shows me the time machine, I've jumped in that bad boy and set the dial to 2002. I'm going to get Serena. Any other choice would literally mean you have a death wish. So under the alien test, Serena is the best tennis player of all time. Ultimately this a more important test cumulative records, and this is why I have laid it out for you. Also, everybody agrees that is one of the best female tennis players of all time. I mean, jesus tittyfricking Christ, SI had a goddamn roundtable discussion on this very question: LINK The only other female that I can even accept as having an argument as the best female of all time is Steffi Graf. Neither Chris Evert nor Martina Navratilova -- in their respective primes -- would be able to be competitive against Serena in her prime. And both of them would acknowledge that. Well, Evert would acknowledge it for both of them. Martina would be too busy munching rug to form words. quote: Everybody who is great is a sore loser. Roger Federer is unquestionably a sore loser. But not a disgrace. One doesn't follow the other. Reply Back to Top |
Posted by Unbiased Bama Fan on 6/1 at 1:07 am to bobbyray21 Well, I think there's a huge difference between being the best player of all-time and the greatest player of all-time. Serena certainly has a case for being the best player of all-time but she has no case for being the greatest player of all-time. At her absolute peak, I don't see any women's player beating her including Graf or Navratilova. However, she will never be greater than them. She trails them big-time in every major category such as Grand Slams won, weeks at #1, match winning percentage, and total tournaments won. I don't see her ever being ranked higher than 4th in any all-time great women's tennis player list unless she gets herself in shape and starts dominating again.Reply Back to Top Refresh |
