quote: This administration won't be satisfied until we are back in the stone age! Reply Back to Top |
| That is only the tip of the iceberg if he gets four more years in office. Reply Back to Top |
| If you think rising gas prices are bad for the economy wait till electricity bills go up 8 fold by 2015. We will look like North Korea. I have no doubt that we will see a second depression with electricity rates increasing that much. Reply Back to Top |
quote: While in theory I agree, I think he Repubs may actually take the Senate this go round and stonewall his shite. Reply Back to Top |
| If this is their plan, they sure as shite better get on the ball with licensing some new nuclear plants. If this price is accurate, it will be cheaper to equip your house with solar pannels than it will be to run only from the grid. Reply Back to Top |
quote: This is planned. Just go back and read some of Obama's campaign promises. This is exactly what he wants to take place. Reply Back to Top |
| If the parameters of the 1930's were being used in the present day it would show that we are in a depression. Reply Back to Top |
quote: If you can't make solar break even points work at current electricity cost, increase the cost of electricity till you can... Reply Back to Top |
| if i had a house, i would totally equip it with photovoltaics. they work great on a small scale, but as of now (and what i only assume will be for the forseeable future) they are not fiscally or functionally ready (along with wind) to replace coal burning plants as an energy supplier for large commercial areas. Reply Back to Top |
| They never will be fiscally ready, unless you make all other sources o energy so damned expensive that is reaches a tipping point. That is the plan that the Oboe, and Ahchew at the DOE are trying to make happen. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Solar prices have jumped up considerably too since we're now being screwed on all energy fronts since the tariff on Chinese solar panels was put in place last week under the guise of fair trade practices. I suspect the real purpose is to artificially help non-competitive US manufacturers look more attractive, some of whom already received porkulus "green energy" payouts. Reply Back to Top |
| frick Obama, frick Chu, frick Salazar, frick Jackson. What these people are doing to this nation makes George III look like a complete slacker. Our Founding Fathers must be horrified at what has happened. Reply Back to Top |
| We've probably got a 15 year development period before technology truly begins to make fossil fuels cost inefficient. No link...just reading a book entitled "Abundance". Sounds plausible. But a hell of a lot can happen in 15 years. If Obama crashes this place, worshiping at his egalitarian theology and using the 'global warming' scenario to "fundamentally change the nation"....then...we may all end up living in lean to's. We should be trying to make energy very cheap, so as to placate a lot of frustrated and enraged citizens, and bring back our economy by selling ff energy on the world market. A market which should be prime, due to ME war. Let's just hope true patriotic Americans who love FREEDOM, show up in a tidal wave and run this chip-on-the-shoulder Marxist tyrant out of town. And get the private economy humming so as to support the new technology on the drawing boards. Reply Back to Top |
| The inflation we would see on something like this would be incredible... Reply Back to Top |
| Yep...and kick in further inflation from the printing that will be required to send out unemployment checks and bailouts for basic services...and the sky is the limit. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Don't be silly. He's a de-developer (think Ted Kaczinsky). They don't want to go back to the stone age. They merely wish to go back to pre-industrial agrarian society. Reply Back to Top |
quote: We're building nuclear reactors instead of burning coal and you call that going back to the stone age? wtf? Reply Back to Top |
