re: Cooper Bateman to Bama It's not like Bama is going to turn into an air raid offense. He wasn't an in state player no one really expected him to come to LSU. Reply Back to Top
Is there anything available in the JUCO ranks? Reply Back to Top
I would still be happy with Riley Ferguson. But losing out on Bateman really sucks. Ferguson got the chest and swag This post was edited on 5/16 at 10:36 am Reply Back to Top

Hope Bateman turns out to be an insignificant afterthought like Alex Cate did--talk about overrated! Reply Back to Top
I don't necessarily think the Tigers will have to settle at QB--there are still some highly rated ones out there, all out of state it seems. It is still just mid May, so there's a lot of time before NSD for this to change. Reply Back to Top

This guy is like if Brock Berlin/Evangel played against a bunch of 5'8" white kids. He has the tools, just like Berlin/Booty etc, but we'll see how they translate to big boy football. I like his arm but I am skeptical of that high school's offense and the fact that he plays in Utah. Reply Back to Top
quote: Well, he was named the Elite 11 MVP from the Dallas Combine by 24/7 Sports. That competition included almost every highly ranked QB in the country. Reply Back to Top |
Again, he has a great arm. But he is learning habits in HS right now that will be difficult to unlearn. Berlin or Booty would've shined in a combine setting too. I think he'll be good but I am inherently skeptical of counting on a kid who plays HS football in Utah running a gimmick offense like that. Reply Back to Top
quote: I haven't looked but is there a Bama circle-jerk going on the SECr like there was for Sims? This post was edited on 5/16 at 12:58 pm Reply Back to Top |
Maybe we can get one of his brothers - Peyton or Ei. Reply Back to Top
Bama fans should be circle jerking. Bateman's a good prospect. We'd be circle jerking if we landed him. Give them congrats and move on. Bateman was never coming to LSU and most reasonable people knew that already. Bateman was named MVP by 247 but after finding out how 247 grades those events, it's not the same as him being the best player that day and he wasn't . Devante Kincaide was. Kincaide officially won the MVP from the Elite 11 committee. Bateman was good don't get me wrong but 247's MVP weighs his prospect status in and not just his performance at the camp. We'd be fine with Kincaide in the class. The kid can play. People are letting size cloud their judgement. Nobody was bitching about Anthony Alford last year and he's the same height as Kincaide. We could still make a strong play for Ferguson, who is extremely high on Bama and now will have to look around more and we're in the mix. Also have Max Staver and Cody Thomas on the board. Life is not over just yet. Reply Back to Top
Kincaide is rising in popularity as a QB prospect. It also doesn't hurt that he is at Skyline. Skyline is a D1 football factory and getting him committed might help get other Skyline players down the road. Reply Back to Top
What happen wit hCate anyways. I remember he and Dez Bryant were in the same class and we had accpeted Cates commitment but then he chose to go elsewhere. I wasnt in love with him when we got him but i thought he was a good QB. Now his butt hurt daddy is blocking? WTF? Reply Back to Top

Incorrect - that would be Devante Kincade that won MVP. Reply Back to Top
