Southeast BTR school district gets closer to reality Posted by mpar98 Passed the final committee hearing and now heads to the full House to be debated and needs 2/3rds majority vote. LINK Reply Back to Top
Buncha racists, wanting to educate their children utilizing the money that they're already paying in to the system but that's being squandered. It's a damn shame, I tell ya. Reply Back to Top

Thanks. Just wanted to be sure! The general counsel for the EBR school system was arguing the other day that this new school system is racist and would lead to a district that was 75% white. What this guy doesn't realize is that many black families in this are support this new school system. Reply Back to Top
hopefully this gets passed. It would be nice progress for baton rouge if south br has its own district. Reply Back to Top
If this passes, I may opt out of sending the kids to private school...cha-ching! high school that is...already in private school This post was edited on 5/15 at 8:02 am Reply Back to Top

It actually screws the really smart kids who live in the new district. Now they can't go to Baton Rouge High unless they move. Reply Back to Top

You'd be naive to believe that these schools won't have gifted programs. I believe Shenandoah Elem already has one? Reply Back to Top

This would be good progress for br, having said that 70 votes will be tough to get. They better make sure all 105 members are there when they take the vote. Reply Back to Top

start emailing them if your interested in this happening, you can email each one of them House members email addresses This post was edited on 5/15 at 8:16 am Reply Back to Top
I don't think proponents will be able to get the majority of votes in the EBR referendum on this issue. Reply Back to Top
| probably so because progress is looked at as a bad thing in baton rouge and la in general. It would just make south br that much better if it got to break away from the shite hole school district. property value up and maybe it could draw in some new construction like a new upscale mall to replace mall of la since its going to shite.
