Barely making the top 30

Although I would not be surprised if we're closer to 20 than 30 after this summer

I wouldn't worry about it. At one point in 2006 we were ranked #4 in the World LOL. I would say our squad and program now is significantly better than it was in 2006. We are getting better and better. Our programs is on the upswing. It'll just take a few years.

I think it's a pretty solid reflection of our standing in the soccer world.

If you look at the 15 teams in front of us:

quote:

14. Greece
15. Ivory Coast
16. France
17. Sweden
18. Ireland (tie)
18. Switzerland (tie)
20. Mexico
21. Australia
22. Ghana
23. Colombia
24. Norway
25. Paraguay
26. Czech Republic
27. Bosnia-Herzegovina
28. Slovenia

We'd win some, we'd lose some.... but we'd expect to be competitive in all. We were a *little* out of our element against France, but their ranking is probably a little low.

If you look at the 15 after us:

quote:

30. Japan
31. South Korea
32. Serbia
33. Turkey
34. Slovakia
35. Hungary
36. Peru
37. Ecuador
38. Algeria
39. Mali
40. Zambia
41. Wales
42. Gabon
43. Venezuela
44. Belgium

I would EXPECT to win more of these then we lose.

Can't really be worried about FIFA rankings.

How often do they come out with these? Seems like there will be newer rankings right after the Euros as well.

SIE WERDEN SICH HINSETZEN, SIE WERDEN RUHIG SEIN, SIE WERDEN NICHT BELEIDIGEN DEUTSCHLAND!!!

Deutschland wird die Welt beherrschen!

FIFA rankings are essentially meaningless. They are a stupid aggregate score of all international results with more weight placed on the past four years.

LOL @ England, Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Switzerland, and Australia being so high. I'm not sure Portugal should be ahead of Brazil and Argentina.

France should be higher. Belgium should definitely be higher. Are they really worse than Gabon, Zambia, or Algeria? Come on.

Ghana has pretty much knocked the US out of the past two World Cups. That is what I'm refering too.
