Portsmouth, NH and Surrounding Area - Any Recs? Posted by bossflossjr Know this is a long shot...... Chowder and Lobster I will eat up here somehwere..... Stuck here for 5 days. Been to Boston several times.... Not driving down there..... Thanks Reply Back to Top
I flew into/out of Portsmouth 10 or so years ago when I went skiing in Maine. If fish (Cod) and chips is something that you like then I highly recommend it in that part of the country. Sorry I can't remember the names of the restaurants where I ate, but I had that as a meal probably 3-4 times for lunch the week I was there. The fish was amazingly fresh and equally tasty at every place that I ordered it. Reply Back to Top

quote: I know you're from the Monroe area from some of your posts on here, and when I went up there me and a couple of friends met up with a guy that was there doing pipeline work. The initial to your first name wouldn't be J by any chance, would it? Reply Back to Top |
NH relayed a message that said you choices are pretty solid, he lives farther inland than where you are staying. Reply Back to Top
Ate at a Weathervane 22 years ago. It was ok. I kind of think that you'll be homesick (food wise) soon if you're not already. Weathervane Reply Back to Top
Nah man I'm not a J. And I have laid my share of pipe, but have never pipe lined. Reply Back to Top

I am not sure how far you consider the surrounding area, but Kennebunkport, ME has a little dive bar called the Ramp, underneath a nicer restaurant. I believe it is 30-45 mins from Portsmouth. It serves great food, and has tons of old sports and election memorabilia all around the bar. Bring some Saints or LSU gear and see if you can get it stapled into the rafters. It is a cool location right on the water overlooking a harbor, but this time of year, it may be empty. Reply Back to Top Refresh
