Posted by Jafahr on 5/7 at 11:05 am to GeismarGeauxer Hey Geismar, for today we're still iPad only, but definitely check back tomorrow for new developments! Reply Back to Top |
| Does it communicate with Sam's Club cards? I will leave mint.com for it if it will... LINK Reply Back to Top |
| Hey Geismar, he.was telling the truth. Iphone app now available. Reply Back to Top |
| Email I got today: The Personal Capital Team is pleased to introduce the revolutionary Universal Checkbook, exclusively for our new iPhone app. Pay anyone, from any account. Or transfer money between accounts. Just snap a picture of a blank check. That's all it takes. No more stamps, ordering checks, or balancing your checkbook — the app takes care of all of that for you. And right now it’s free and available on our new iPhone app. Link to more info for those with Iphone (not me). LINK Reply Back to Top |
| Wow, those are some impressive features for a free website. Reply Back to Top |
| holy shite it mails checks to people for free? that's pretty damn awesome merging new technology that we use to people who still rely on physical checks. I may have to give this a try... Reply Back to Top |
quote: Agreed. With the way Mint runs their site w/ budgeting and how Personal Capital is doing things, I would venture to guess they are working on the same assumption on what the market for these products is. This post was edited on 5/8 at 1:04 pm Reply Back to Top |

Posted by Jafahr on 5/8 at 1:46 pm to TheHiddenFlask Hey everyone! Yep, iPhone app is out, along with our latest feature the Universal Checkbook. HiddenFlask, actually in this case we're sending physical checks; technology meets old school! Hope you guys like the app, please share if you have any feedback! And if you think we deserve it please give us a good rating in the app store; helps a lot in getting the name out :) Reply Back to Top |
quote: I read it that way, but I thought there was no way that was possible. Does anyone other than a bank offer this service? Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yeah I've got 2 checks I have to write each month: lawn service and utilities. Those will go bye bye. How do you sign the check? Reply Back to Top |
Posted by Jafahr on 5/8 at 2:20 pm to TheHiddenFlask Honestly not sure. Apart from banks I haven't seen it, but I suppose it's possible. Reply Back to Top |
| In the app, basically you click on the account you want to send the check from. For initial set up you need to take a picture of a voided check; from there it should be pretty self explanatory. No actual signature needed here; once it's set up it's good to go. Let me know if that makes sense; if you run into major issues I can also have your account flagged for follow up from our customer service team. Reply Back to Top |
| I haven't signed up yet. Probably won't until the weekend when i have some time to look at it more. Just thinking about the process a bit. I'm a little worried about the security, but we'll see. Reply Back to Top |
| Hi Jafahr, Someone checked a few weeks ago for me, and it seemed that TIAA Direct was not yet set up to work with Personal Capital. Is this still the case? If so, are there any plans in the works to get this done? Currently, TIAA Direct offers the highest interest rates by far, yet they are still not compatible with Mint or Personal Capital. If this were to change, I'd be a regular user for sure. I still may try the service out now with the iPhone app available, but TIAA Direct compatibility would be perfect! Thanks for signing up for our forum though. How did you find it, google search and tigerdroppings was near the top? Reply Back to Top |
| Definitely understand the concern there. Security pretty much has the highest priority for us, precisely because of it's importance to anyone who would consider our products. I can tell you we use the latest and greatest in the world of encryption, and our CTO actually created the system used by most banks these days. Obviously you need to do your own research to feel at ease; please check out "our team" on the site if you're curious, and here's a link to the safety/security section of our site. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can try to help! LINK / Reply Back to Top |
| Hi Iggy, I took a look, I think it might be a nomenclature thing, but I'm not sure. Try searching for "TIAA" and then choosing the TIAA-CREF option from the search results. I believe that works, might just be a search logic issue. Let me know how it goes. Thanks! I actually saw some traffic from here in our Google Analytics, noticed the conversation and just wanted to help out if I could. Reply Back to Top |
