I have a very cheap 2/3mm Body Glove wetsuit from Academy and I also have a "skin" I bought from Tementos that I use when the water is hot. Idk the brand of mask I have off hand. Me need to go all crazy with it. A good fitting mask with a big field of view is all you need Reply Back to Top
Thanks brotha. I'll never need more than 2/3mm? I run colder than most people (no fat). Reply Back to Top
2/3mm as in 3mm in the chest area and 2mm in the arms and legs (just to be clear) not 0.66667mm this is the mask I have, very simple ![]() This post was edited on 5/2 at 12:04 am Reply Back to Top
Atomic frameless mask is the best on the market. Widest field of view, lightweight, low volume, comfortable, lifetime warranty. I have 3 of them. The mask is very important, a shitty one will make your dive uncomfortable. 3 mm wetsuit is fine for water 72F and above. I used a 3 mm all hear except December through March. A hooded vest is a good alternative to getting a thicker suit for cold water. Henderson and aqualung make some of the best suits. Bare is also pretty good Reply Back to Top

I dive in jeans and a sweatshirt. No need to tear up a good wetsuit. In cold water I through a 5mm on. But then again I dive warm. Reply Back to Top

I honnestly dont know on the wetsuit 3.5mm is gonna be hot in june-august 1.5 wont cut it in november-march Reply Back to Top
could i go 1.5 and then put on a really thick hooded vest for nov-march? Reply Back to Top
Get a 3mm. It will be perfectly fine during the summe and great apeil-nov. If you find yourself diving during the winter then you can get something thicker or a farmer John. Keep it simple. I don't think you'll be diving in February much especially just starting out. Reply Back to Top
