re: 2012 Leeds United Summer Extravaganza Threadquote: Heskey will be available on a free. Every team needs a powerhouse Eta: ambrose would be a good signing, is he free? He played under warnock for palace, correct? This post was edited on 5/2 at 4:53 pm Reply Back to Top |
i read that ambrose would be available for less than 1 mil would be especially good if we lose a player like SWAGgrass Reply Back to Top
I would love to acquire Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield Town (1 year left on his contract). Although Striker is not a huge necessity, he can bang in the goals and Leeds didn't have a 20 goal scorer this season for the first time (ever i think). Reply Back to Top

Well, it looks like Jason Pearce will be Warnock's (rumored) first signing of the summer. Read up on him a bit. Started at Pompey but moved to Bournemouth on a two year deal after not being able to break into the first team. Helped Bournemouth gain promotion from League 2 (where he became captain), and then the next year missed out on promotion to Championship when he was sent off in the final and Bournemouth lost on pens. Moved back to Pompey where he again became captain and won 7 of 9 supporter awards. "earning himself a reputation as an honest, no-nonsense defender with a drive to succeed" He won back to back Player of the Year awards Bournemouth 2010/2011 and Pompey 2011/2012. Looks like it should be a great capture for Neil. Reply Back to Top
good signing. let's get a defender or 5 in now. Reply Back to Top
Interesting. Sounds like he could be a great find. We'll have to see if he can make the step up from Bournemouth and post-administration Portsmouth though. With warnock as manager I'd imagine the goal has to be immediate promotion. I remember him saying crystal palace would be his last job on MoTD 3 or 4 years ago... Reply Back to Top
bbc confirms pearce signing Reply Back to Top
He has been given the #5 previously worn by Jack Charlton, Jon Charles, and Lucas Radebe. Hopefully he'll perform up to the numbers storied history! Reply Back to Top
some rumors i've seen/heard over the weekend- - john pantsil (free) -justin hoyte (free) - closing in on varney - clayton + 1 mil for beckford - kuzsczak (sp?) we definitely need a reserve keeper. This post was edited on 5/6 at 12:52 pm Reply Back to Top
Paintsil has been terrible since Woy left Fulham. Also, kusczak wants to play, he wouldn't take another back up job Reply Back to Top
wages would probably be a stumbling block anyway, we have a really talented young keeper(alex cairns) but they probably will send him on loan to league one or two after preseason. Reply Back to Top
quote: Not a big fan. He was linked to Celtic in Jan. Apparently a big Celtic fan. I'd say Bothroyd 2.0. Reply Back to Top |
any under the radar guys in the SPL to keep an eye on ? we've done a good job with the likes up snoddy and mccormack (though he was at cardiff between motherwell and leeds) This post was edited on 5/7 at 2:38 pm Reply Back to Top
quote: Paul Dixon's a good defender for DU In the Huns firesale, best pickups would be McGregor (you don't need him) and Goian Dean Shiels from Killie Ian Black (scumbag) and Rudi Skacel from Hearts Michael Higdon from Motherwell From Celtic, the Mexican Juarez is going to be gone. Samaras might be worth a chance. Paddy McCourt is probably off to look for playing time. Reply Back to Top |
been linked w/ Dundee's Johnny Russell and Hearts' David Templeton. know anything about them? also been linked with james mcfadden. would be a pretty good signing. Reply Back to Top Refresh
