| If mingo gets to 265 he'll be unblockable. This post was edited on 5/7 at 12:57 pm Reply Back to Top |
quote: What's obsurd is that you guy's are this dense. I wasn't comparing RN to Mingo directly, just that playing a different position in college than you will play in the pros (like Mingo) will not adversly affect his chances of making the NFL. Gesh, its not that hard . quote: Define do better. Next, are you somehow under the impression that he can't play multiple spots on the line in college? Do you think Bama plays a 3 man front 100% of the snaps on defense? No, they really play a hybrid 3-4 anyway. Apparently this is hard for some of you to grasp, but he could play DE when they are in a 3-4 and slide over DT when they have 4 guys with their hands on the dirt (BTW, some pro teams do this, moving guys inside and out). The boarder point stands, if he is a talented as he's supposed to be, he could a first round pick whether he plays in a college 3-4 or 4-3. The fact that he might not get as many sacks in a 3-4, WILL NOT hurt is draft stock. Scouts judge on ability and film, not just stats like fans do. Reply Back to Top |
quote: who's not, Nkemdiche? Who said he was? Mingo will be drafted as an OLB, he is too small for 4-3 DE in the pros. perfect size/explosiveness for pass rushing OLB however. Reply Back to Top |

| Wait, so let's get this straight. There are certain players who fit a 3-4 defense better. That has been an ongoing concession by many people on this recruiting board, e.g Denzell Duvall fits a 3-4 defense better, Kendell Beckwith fits a 3-4 defense better. Yet, it is impossible to fathom that certain players fit a 4-3 defense better? That is one steaming pile of shite. H-Town, your assertion that productivity in college does not matter and NFL scouts will find you regardless is laughable. Yes, RN would have success wherever he went and will be an NFL player, but his draft slot will depend heavily on his production in college. And I'm willing to admit that sometimes it works against LSU - If Reuben Randle were at OSU, he would be Justin Blackmon. Their pro day results were nearly identical, the thing that separates the two is that Blackmon had more opportunities in a wide open offense with a good QB and better productivity. A guy like Poe is an outlier. He was extremely fortunate to be drafted in that position. You don't stake your draft position on being an outlier, you stake it on going to the school that maximizes your chance at showcasing your talent. And just to be clear, RN would do well at Bama and get drafted highly. But he would have more opportunities to showcase his talent in LSU's defense. Reply Back to Top |

| That's not much of a push back. He has until Feb no rush big man. Reply Back to Top |

| player and play they are most remembered for 5 pages and no Eric Reid pick at goal line vs Bama in 9-6 win this past year?? Not 100%. Sam and Mingo will be fighting for top billing next year. Either way, both will be top 10 picks and dominating the line next year! Reply Back to Top |

| Gino tweeting he thinks RN will end up at OM??? Not sure what to think about that Gotta love Greg Gilmore's Twitter too. Just about everything that guy tweets is all LSU! quote: Reply Back to Top |
quote: Why would he even tweet that about a guy that just said he was delaying his decision? Reply Back to Top |
| Maybe he think OM is the reason RN delayed? IDK maybe he knows something? Reply Back to Top |
