re: the player with the most potential.quote: This/thread Reply Back to Top |
| I can definitely agree with Simon. He's far from a finished product. Johnson played pretty well last year but this spring couldn't/didn't pass Downs on the depth chart. That's not an encouraging sign to me. OBJ has a lot of potential but really how good can a 5'11-6'0 wr really have. His size limits his overall potential. My 2 candidates yet to be mentioned. Lael Collins, his size kind of limits him some but he's a tremendous athlete on the OL and is far from polished. Jalen Collins, players choice as the best pure athlete on the team. Combine that with his size and you're looking at a guy with big time potential as a CB. We're talking PP7/Mo type draft potential. Not saying he's the gifted natural talent PP7 is but he could easily be a better cover corner when he leaves than PP7. We've got 4-5 kids coming in this summer that have huge potential as well. Jerald Hawkins at OT, Derrick Raymond at CB, Corey Thompson at S,Kwon Alexander at LB and Danielle Hunter at DE. Reply Back to Top |
| what year is jalen collins? will he get playing time this year ya think? Reply Back to Top |

| Odell. He appears to have the talent of a Heisman reel. Hopefully he'll be given ample opportunity in 2012. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I'd go with this. That kid has freakish skills. Not to steal Freak's nickname. Odell is uncanny with his play skills. Reply Back to Top |
| Most potential goes to freak. I use him as "most potential" bc he hasn't quite shown everything he can do. I'll put mongo in the "most upside" category bc he has shown to be extremely effective with so much room for advancement. Reply Back to Top |
| OBJ will continue to produce but the player with the most potential is Jarvis Landry. He will show this year what he could have done last year if it weren't for his fall camp injury. And he has a year of reps in practice with Mett. He will explode this year. Reply Back to Top |
quote: My dad and I were talking about him tonight. If you thought he was impressive on special teams, wait til he's out there on offense. I'm glad we can't pick out just one. That's a great thing! ![]() Reply Back to Top |
quote: To answer this, go look up what Josh Reed did at that height for us in '01. OBJ and Landry will be a dangerous 1-2 for several seasons. Reply Back to Top |
quote: No shite and we hopefully got our Qb finally to dish it to our Wr's and with our 5 Rb's this gonna be our year. The d is loaded. Our Special teams is awesome. Reply Back to Top |
quote: You get a chance to see spring game? That one pass where Odell was crossing left, Zach threw behind him to fit the hole, Odell laid out backwards and outstretched caught ball about a foot off the ground. Man oh man. Reply Back to Top |
| I think Jarvis Landry will take Reid's place as my favorite tiger. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I only saw bits of it. The kid just does anything to grab that ball. I was stunned with his play last year. True freshman. @RB Williams..... I hear ya. I hate to think of Reid leaving, he's is and always will be one of my favs. I bumped into his mom and two of his brothers in New Orleans when we were walking to the Hilton to watch the buses head to the dome. He is incredibly smart and a hard hitter to boot. Glad all these boys are on our team! ETA for typo This post was edited on 5/4 at 12:59 am Reply Back to Top |
He doesn't get the glory but the dude lays the wood. ![]() Reply Back to Top |
| I'll never forget that pick from Michael Williams in the Bama game last season. That was insane. And moron Verne gets all bent out of shape about it. "OH NO!" I saw Verne walking to the elevators for at TS for the Arky game and my dad asked me, "You want me to get a picture of you with him?" NOOOOOOO! LINK Reply Back to Top |
| Yeah that was as clutch as dreadlocks of doom vs state. I'm going to miss Reid. Hopefully this year he gets the credit he deserves and goes better in the draft. Reply Back to Top |
