| I believe my brother was at that concert and still has the ticket stub. Reply Back to Top |
| The '75 boot is likely my favorite of the three boots. As for a reunion Plant just has no desire to do one. Page is all for it, but there are rumors that arthritis has begun to affect his fingers. JPJ is touring and making guest appearances pretty regularly. After the O2 concert JPJ, Bohnam Jr and Page were practicing with the idea they were going on tour with Plant. Then Plant backed out and it's my opinion that closes the door on any Zeppelin reunion. They don't need the money. Reply Back to Top |
| John Paul is having a blast playing with Seasick Steve. Reply Back to Top |

| If BR had a bad arse corporate sponsored ampitheatre, it could draw the bigger names. Reply Back to Top |

quote: +1. Took the I-12 from Covington to B.R. ... it wasn't open yet. I also remember the Stones playing the PMAC, with a huge inflatable penis in the middle of the stage. Reply Back to Top |

quote: This hardly ever gets mentioned. I wasn't born yet, but I find it hard to believe that a lot of the older posters don't make a bigger deal out of it. Ossie all but ruined Baton Rouge. Seriously, we could have been a lot more like Austin, but he wanted us to be a lot more like Denham. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I know Ossie's son and blame him for being such a teenage delinquent....... I was driving a huge Bread Van as an electrician back then. It was dirty and I scratched "OSSIE vs OZZIE" on the side, real big and drove it around town. The Advocate snapped a pic and put it in the paper........ Still pissed I missed seeing Randy Rhoads because of this........ Reply Back to Top |

quote: The AC/DC concert in 1980, on the heels of the tragedy with The Who in Cincy, killed the BR music scene and BR has pretty much been blacklisted by promoters ever since. The stuff that went down at the J. Geils concert in the early '80's didn't help, either. (Peter Wolf had the audacity to stop the show to complain about the heavy-handed security and "incited a riot" by asking concertgoers to contact their council representatives.) It's hard to believe now that BR was one of the hottest music venues in the South behind the likes of Austin, Athens, and New Orleans. This post was edited on 5/3 at 11:07 am Reply Back to Top |
