re: **OFFICIAL** American Idol Season 11quote: You need your eyes checked! Jessica can bite the dust and I sure hope she does. Skylar and Hollie were standouts for the night. Love my Josh, but his heart belongs to Hollie. And, I've decided that he's not gay. Just a bit feminine. ETA: Just watched Josh sing his second song. WOW factor all over the place. I LOVED it. He took the night for me. Second-Hollie Third-Skylar And, it pains me to say P2 slipped to 4. Jessica-last and I hope she goes. She annoys me at this point. | P2 knows he coasts to the final with the female vote. He was the worst last night but I doubt he's bottom 3. Debatable whether he sings Righteous Brothers better than Tom Cruise. Jessica goes home. Her song choices are baffling for this show Reply Back to Top |
quote: He really has had some poor performances recently. The first one last night was alright. That second one really was not good at all. Just a bad song choice IMO. He doesn't have the voice to sing that melody and he tried it but it did not sound right. He COULD be in trouble tonight but I doubt it because of a strong online and text voter base. quote: Definitely. She sounded okay last night but she has been passed up in this competition. She can leave now. quote: This is absolutely true. I see you also went back and added josh in there. That last performance by him was incredible. My favorite from him so far. I still think over all he had the second best night though. Hollie opened up the show with that great performance. I get nervous on up tempo songs for her but she was feeling it last night. The "bleeding love" performance was about as flawless as you can be. The arrangement of the song was perfect. That run at the end she went on was awesome. I have watched it like 5 times. Gives me "goosies" and almost happy tears each time. Do you now think she has a shot, Gris? I know many people on here do not like skylar but I think she is great. I am a huge fan of modern country so that pretty much shows why I think she is so good. Skylar is a performer. She is entertaining and I really like her singing voice. She has softness to her voice like Dolly but can bring the attitude and grit like Reba. That's a winning combo IMO. She is a better Miranda Lambert at the same age and I am Miranda fan. Can't wait to see what she will do in country. quote: Josh is trying hard to hide it. But deep down he knows his true feelings. I'm glad he has a FRIEND like Hollie to support him and his sexuality He can come to the wedding too Dial Idol has Skylar as the only safe person right now. That definitely makes me nervous. They have Phillip last place but I don't think he loses out on the text and computer vote and dial idol can't measure that. Last week, Hollie was deemed "safe". She ended up bottom two. Currently the order from dial idol is Skylar Hollie Joshua Jessica Phillip Although that order excites me. I just don't know what to think at this point. I will be looking like this at work all day. quote: Didn't someone early in the season say they went to high school with Joshua and that he was bi? Worst case scenario for you Bee. Even if you can steal her away, she may show up at your wedding with the AIDS (If not AIDS, at least the diabeetus). Reply Back to Top |

| Here is my assessment of last night. 1/2 Joshua/ Hollie - Can't really separate them because they were both incredible and because they are in love. 3. Bebe - she's my least favorite, but her second performance was really good 4. Skylar - Everyone else seems to have liked her last night, but I thought both performances were pretty meh. 5. Phil - first song was ok and second was turrible. I'm a fan, but last 2 weeks have been weak. Skylar and Phil have been 2 of my favorites, so no bias. I just didn't think either had good performances. Then again, it doesn't really matter what I think since I've never voted. By the way, on the first night of live performances (top 24 or 25 or whatever), my wife and I each selected our top 5. She even wrote it down. I nailed it, and my wife had 4 of 5 (she had Colton over Jessica). I guess America has done a pretty good job. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Not the diabeetus!!! quote: If this was even close to truth. I would be jealous and quote: I have no problem with the ones that are left to be honest. You can see that this was the group that was rising to the top week to week. Tonight's vote will get crazy. I was huge on Hollie a year ago and thought she should have been in the competition and not eliminated so early. So this wasn't just a recent thing with me being crazy over her But she fought and came back to try again and it has paid off tremendously. She has shown the most growth in this competition IMO. quote: No doubt, and even though I thought the judges were too hard on her at times, I think their criticism pushed her to get better. You have to commend her for taking the criticism the right way. Reply Back to Top |
| The thing that scares me the most for Hollie is that she has now been outstanding for 3 weeks in a row, yet she was near the bottom both other weeks. It may have been too late. To win this show, you have to be really good early on to gain those fans. At this point, most voters have a favorite and will vote for them regardless of the performances on a given night. There are those who will vote for the best each week, but those are people who vote once or twice, not power voters like you. Reply Back to Top |
quote: You are definitely right. But for those that have weaker voting bases like Hollie currently has next to her competition, it comes down to specific people that get eliminated which could help her out going forward. I think Hollie sits pretty well taking a lot of votes from Phillip and skylar voters if they leave before she does. It isn't common to find too many Jessica and Hollie fans. I have still yet to figure out Joshua's voting base. I can guarantee from what I have read and what I hear, it definitely isn't the tween/teen girl voters It's an obvious statement to say that this is an important vote tonight because we only have 5 left but what's more important is who gets the ax tonight when it comes to shaping the competition. If Phillip or Jessica go, this becomes wide open. You are correct about the voting bases though. Each contestant will have their big voters behind them week to week. The swing votes are what matter now. You rally can't rely on those voters though to gauge the competition because you never know if they will show to vote that night. Last night I think I went way past power voter. I don't even really know how to describe my category. It was an all out one man assault. Rambo would be jealous Reply Back to Top |
| Wait...did I miss something? Josh and Hollie have been hooking up for realz? Reply Back to Top |
quote: False. No. Not happening. Not a chance. Reply Back to Top |
| Then...I take it that it is happening? Hollie is so fine. And was it discussed on here, but what the hell was going on between Josh and P2 on their duet? Just playing around? I was lost. Reply Back to Top |
quote: The only way P2 gets into trouble is if his fan base gets ticked off in finding out he has a gf. Otherwise, I think he could sing the ABC's and make it to the top. He's picked up a solid voting base right at the beginning. quote: I have great concerns that her rebound after the judge's antics could walk her into the finals which will be terrible. quote: I really don't think Hollie has a shot at the finals, not because of her singing, but because she took so long to really come out. She didn't build the fanbase she needed early on or she didn't get it. Now, if one of the other girls goes and those fans want a girl to win, she might pick up votes and have a long shot. I think she bloomed too late, but she did bloom big time. I think everyone in my top 4 list deserves a shot. quote: Skylar has had the biggest challenge of all them adapting to songs each week and, IMO, she's shown she can adapt to whatever pretty darn well. She sure showed it last night. She's an entertainer and she's marketable. I think she's going to move on up in the singing world regardless of where she ends up in the show. I'm not sure I can say the same for Hollie. She's got the pipes and potential, but Skylar has looked comfy on stage from day 1, regardless of what came out of her mouth. Same with P2, in his own way and Josh. quote: Nah....I think he's into the chicks. He'll be at the wedding, but I think he'll be standing closest to the baptist minister performing the ceremony and he and Hollie will sing their vows. quote: I looked at it, but it's worthless now with unlimited texting. It's nothing more than a fluke if the voting matches it. My biggest concern is Josh. For me, he deserves the top 2 in the end, but I don't think he's got near the fan base P2 does and probably not as much as some of the girls might have near the end. It will be crying shame if he goes home before the finals. He was fantastic last night and the second song was the biggest wow moment of the night. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Have you been watching the show? A week or so ago, they were shown romping around together, rolling on the floor together...they look into each other's eyes etc.... Bee simply cannot accept that Hollie is mad for Josh and vice versa. They're probably switching roomies in the night. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Well, they did make comments about how messy each other's rooms are. Definitely hooking up. Reply Back to Top |

quote: You are probably right. I thought instantly when they showed his girl friend last night that it could cost him votes But his base has been so strong that it would take a monumental collapse for him to go from never being in danger to off the show tonight. Would be one of the biggest shocks I have seen on this show. But then that leaves Jessica. I can't see her leaving either. Her base right now is big and powerful. Joshua may be in trouble but I don't think he goes just yet. His voting block is pretty strong they are just not vocal in the world of blogs, twitter and message boards. Which brings us to Hollie and skylar. Neither deserve to go right now. This will get interesting tonight. I have no idea who will go. Can't call this at all. I am one of the biggest anti dial idol people around. I only brought it up for reference. If they are correct like calling Hollie as the safe one last week and she and skylar were bottom two. That makes me extremely nervous about tonight. But it still is just dial idol so I should take it with a grain of salt and just go take those nerve pills. What are your predictions, Gris? quote: This is me reading what you wrote. This post was edited on 5/3 at 11:25 am Reply Back to Top |
quote: This is why I was a little shocked that you threw some votes at Skylar last night. If you believe they will be bottom 2, shouldn't Skylar be the last person you would vote for? Reply Back to Top |
