How can LSU be considered down graded at QB?

And Oregon be an upgrade???

Miles has recruited all of one QB who played pretty consistently well. Hopefully Mett changes that trend.

I see nothing wrong with that statement. I find it puzzeling too that LSU, within the past 5 years, couldn't find a QB. Well let me say the past 4 years, we did have Mett last year, he just wasn't going to start.

I agree Elleshoe. Also, the rest of the college football world is taking a wait and see attitude about our new QB. Hopefully Mett will be what we think he is.

It's really hard for the backup quarterback to be the team leader. Les Miles made it painfully obvious to everyone who "his quarterback" was.

What trend? It was one player for 3 years that held back the LSU offense.

At first I though the same, but I think it means we still don't have a proven QB. We're not being downgraded from "JJGAte", we're just not on the upswing of a proven QB yet.

A lot of people though Bryan Bennett was better than D. Thomas last year. He was pretty good when Thomas went down.

Seeing as we have a guy starting for us this year whose biggest collegiate competition to date has been the LSU spring game, i see where it can be tough for reporters to go around pimping him just yet.

And as far as Oregon, well, their new QB is a stud. He was better than Thomas last year.

Lsu OF could have been a lot better the last 3 years if Les could learn to coach up a QB. Maybe he didn't have the raw talent but I would have given Mett a chance in the NC game. Couldn't done any worse that leaving JJ in their. We were totally dominated!

A reasonable opinion, but I would not even count Perrilloux as playing "consistently well" given that he was in trouble at times even during 2007 and really did not play that much. Anyway, I agree that he did play well most of the time that he played and his solid performance against TN captured an SEC crown and paved the way to the NC against Ohio State.

How about this: Miles has yet to recruit a QB who has played consistently well as a starter.

he had a very specific role that he performed well. he had 2 games where he attempted more than 5 passes: Middle Tennessee and Tennessee in emergency duty

in the four games prior to the Tennessee game (Bama, La Tech, Ole Miss, and Arkansas), he amassed a total of 2 carries for 3 yards and 2/4 passing

when he got any decent amount of playing time he was good. Towards the end of the season he wasn't getting many snaps.
