Winchester SX3 Autoloader Posted by Tchefuncte Tiger Who here has one? Thoughts? Reviews?Reply Back to Top
never shot one, but they do look good Reply Back to Top
Have one...best shouldering and shooting autoloader I have ever shot or owned (including Benellis and Berettas). Its sister gun is the Browning Maxus which also shoulders and shoots well. Of course, different body types equate to different preference in guns. As far as shooting and the mechanics involved within the gun, it is top notch engineered. Reply Back to Top
Posted by Choirboy on 5/1 at 9:40 am to Tchefuncte Tiger I have one and love it. I am kind of a big guy and it fits me better than most off the shelf autoloaders. Con: You can't clear the chamber without completely unloading the gun. FYI: I bought a Kicks .650 turkey choke for it and the results are just short of unbelievable shooting Heavi-metal #5's,6's, and 7's. I also shot some duck with it last year and I give it a thumbs up. Also, I own Brownings, Berettas, Benelis and I like them all for different applications. Reply Back to Top |
Have one. Love it. However, the duratouch finish on mine has discolored around the grip. It's turned a really ugly shade of green. It doesn't affect performance, but it is still annoying considering what I paid for it in 08. Reply Back to Top
The Dura-Touch on my SX2 is also discolored but yellowish as mine is in Shadow grass camo. the Dura-Touch is also sensitive to deet. It will cause it to peel if left on the finish. I love my SX2 and the SX3 will be my next shotgun. Reply Back to Top

he hasn't had good luck with his action either, he had to send it back to winchester for trying to load two shells Reply Back to Top
My BIL's did the same thing. Apparently there are some duds out there, but mine has been functionally sound since day one. Reply Back to Top
they were pretty fast about getting it back to him, he got it back when the season was almost through last year so hopefully it will work for him this year Reply Back to Top
I have one, pretty sure it is the first or second year model they were introduced. I owned the sxII for 7 years before trading it in and upgrading. The sx3 is a great shooting gun, BUT the duratouch finish absoultely Sucks. It turns green/ grey often when wet and scratches if you look at funny. Also whatever they call the grey metal finish pretty much sucks to. Mine has faded siginificantly and has flaked off inside the chamber. Sent it back three differrent times to winchester and they replied normal wear and tear send it to my superior if your still not happy.....only to have the next up repeat the process. I have also had 3 mechanical parts break. sorry to rant, I really do like the gun outside of how it has held up vs the SXII. wouldn't have another Reply Back to Top Refresh
