He's just another fan now with a recruiting guru tag. They are all the same....hear about news as it goes public, then jump to get an interview. I have not seen much value at all of any recruiting sites, especially the pay sites.

Gino is still a d bag though

The value of the recruiting sites is discussions like this. Without them most of these discussions wouldn't happen therefore no need for a LSU recruiting board. Before the recruiting sites the only recruiting info that came out was through local avenues and these kids now just aren't local anymore. They have schools from across the nation recruiting them and without the sites and the analysts having access to the kids we would be virtually in the dark as to who our prospects are. Schools can't talk about recruits so that eliminates the info coming from there. Basically without the sites we wouldn't know much of anything about our recruiting class until they sign. There's no fun in that and most of us would be bored as hell all year if that were the case. I think the sites are overvalued to a point particularly with the inside info and I also complain about them my fair share but the recruiting world is better with them than without them. They have great value to fans like us that enjoy discussing recruiting. I can agree about the pay aspect but if no one payed for them they wouldn't exist and the info that comes from them would be meaningless. So I'm thankful for those that do pay for the sites and I will continue to on a limited basis.

I appreciate any info I can get on recruits. The info about the coaches going West and planning to go to Florida is valuable. A couple of the Florida newspapers cover recruiting more diligently than any in LA. I now know to look at those papers at the end of next week to see who the coaches saw.

Does anyone with a Rivals Subscription know who LSU's Influential supporter is?

Make no mistake! Crimson Dwarf will not make the mistake, but he really does not know what the Red Elephant Club is doing....and he'd leave them in a heart beat, if there is discovered-mischief!

I don't know about Cowboys, but Texas Longhorns is a real option, and remember that prediction.

Texas made contact with Saban this year. It got brushed off as internet rumor but they did reach out to him and offered big money but not the 10 mil that was said. He'll retire when he leaves Bama whether on good or bad terms. Also the NCAA isn't going to do anything to Bama as long as Saban is there. It will come after he's gone. The powers that be aren't going to allow it unless it's something absolutely so public that it can't be ignored. When he's gone the next coach and staff will try to keep what he's done going and will frick up.

There will be a major imbroglio at Alabama.....and I think Saban will leave, to give the appearance that he disapproves of the Red Elephant Club's adventurism.......we'll see if I am right....the NCAA will have too much smoke, to not call out the fire fighters.....

Does cam newton ring a bell? NCAA isn't going anywhere near Bama. Truth be told, they stay out of our hair too.

Thank you. Sometimes it takes a comment like that to remind people that LSU probably isn't squeaky clean either.

That's why I try never to get into those ridiculous "violations" conversations.

Most reasonable people know LSU isn't clean. Way too much smoke around our recruiting over the years to think that. Most reasonable people know that all major football schools are dirty to some degree. It's just stuff fanbases use to go at each other. It just gets compounded when it's proven by the NCAA.

Big Ed has it pegged. Unless something too aggregious to pass over comes out the NCAA isn't messing with the SEC or any other football power for that matter. Most of the stuff that comes down from them is school reported violations that are probably tipped off by the NCAA investigators. The Newton thing got muddled because of MSU. If he had gone to MSU then they would've got hammered but him being at Auburn and them chasing the national title put an end to anything worthwhile coming from it. USC was different because they thumbed their nose to the NCAA. They brought it upon themselves. OSU got off light. Their stuff was school involved and they still got off less than USC. USC's was all non agents of the school. They just refused to cooperate initailly and it burned them.

Pretty much...way too much money involved.

I do think some programs cheat more than others and when you compare LSU to someone like Bama...Bama almost surely cheats more, IMO. Way too much comes out about their recruiting. It comes out a little for us too but not nearly as much. Those Gump and Barner boosters over there need to get their shite under control before they get slapped with another death penalty. Talking about getting sick with power.

Most reasonable people base their assertions on facts. You've suggested LSU is cheating before. If you have facts that support your claim -- beyond what has been reviewed by the NCAA -- then state them openly, otherwise, quit saying that. Most LSU fans do not want to win by cheating and would prefer sanctions to continued cheating. So if you KNOW something for a fact, do our fine university and fan base a service and tell us so we can end it.

quote:

USC's was all non agents of the school.

The person the final report calls "Sports Marketer A" is felon Michael Ornstein, who the NCAA identified as a USC booster. He employed Bush as an intern in the summer at the request of Pete Carroll. Lloyd Lake received all of the ink because he had a law suit pending that yielded information from time to time over the 5 years the case dragged on. Also Trojans loved to point to the "ex-con sports agent wannabe Lake" to discredit the NCAA investigation, but they never mentioned the ex-con sports agent, Ornstein, who was a Trojan booster. The original Yahoo! articles were half about Ornstein and half about Lake. He doesn't reemerge until the NCAA's final report as "Sports Marketer A."

It's true USC's sanctions were stiffer because Trojan arrogance, denial and stonewalling were in the NCAA's face, but the offenses were not all external to the school. Booster are considered internal. Also the NCAA determined that running backs coach Todd McNair knew about Bush's arrangements. And the basketball infractions involved internal offenders. Finally, the Trojans were already on probation when all of this happened; they were "repeat offenders" and were subject to an actual death penalty. Heritage Hall stunk up California.

If LSU's Athletic Department is stinking like the Trojans', then it must be stopped and set back on an honorable basis. Winning by cheating is not winning. So if you have facts that support your continued allegations, share them with the AD and state the date you will be forwarding them to the NCAA. If your highest value is "just win, Baby," become a Trojan. Fighting Tiger Nation is better than that. If we never win another game, we are better than that.
