| Should Saints trade for Mike Jenkins Posted by 504hornets Do you see the saints trying to pull a trade with the cowgirls for Jenkins since we need depth at cb and he is a solid cb when healthyReply Back to Top |
| I was under the assumption the Cowboys drafted Mo to solidify Jenkins? Reply Back to Top |
| Why the urgent need for a #4 CB? We have 3 solid guys under contract for at least two more years. BPA I'm all for CB and could even see it happening but it's certainly not a critical hole to fill. Reply Back to Top |
quote: agreed. we don't need a starter. a developmental CB in the draft is fine by me though. Reply Back to Top |
quote: CB is a spot we seem to get thin at quickly. 4 is a must. quote: Prob is still out to prove himself and there's nothing at all written in stone about Johnny Patrick yet. Reply Back to Top |
| And he's only under contract for one more season... Reply Back to Top |
| Rather have janoris Reply Back to Top |
| Letting Porter walk (wasn't that spendy on a 1yr deal) is the proof that PRob's proving period is over. Patrick was a a solid 2nd Rd rated player that we got at almost exactly the same spot (#88). No reason to doubt his ability. Looked decent when he got some reps after injury. There's more in stone about him as a #88 than most CBs that might be around at #89. That said, again I think CB is among the top 3 positions with likelihood of having the BPA in this class. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I understand he's on deck now but that doesn't mean his production will come to fruition. quote: Even giving you J-Pat, still 3 deep is shallow as it gets. Reply Back to Top |
quote: FIFY You know Jerry Curl blames everything on his secondary, starting with his corners. They already brought in Carr as well. I think Jenkins is better than Patrick. Reply Back to Top |
| Maybe we can use the money we were gonna pay CSP to trade for Jenkins? Reply Back to Top |
| I think we can get above average corner who has a year left on his contract to prove himself plus our corners get hurt often so having a lot of depth here would not hurt at all Reply Back to Top |
quote: a number of NFL teams would like to contend that point witchu 2 more years for PRob thrill I'm game for CB, would be happy with it if BPA, just 3 deep doesn't scream need to me. Positionally I think a DT or WR would get more playing time this year than a #4 CB. Reply Back to Top |
| We stacked pimp style Brah! Mcllwain, Kamaal CB 5-10 175 Parks, Cord DB 5-11 182 Northeastern Victorian, Josh DB 5-10 190 23 R Louisiana Tech Reply Back to Top |
| For what? Dallas is looking for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Jenkins wants an extension. We don't have the money. We already have one very good CB making decent money. Robinson isn't making that much and JPat is making dick. We need to take advantage of their fairly cheap labor with so many other players on the team making big bucks. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Was referring to Jenkins, quoted the wrong fella. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Difference being our offense/qb make our wr's look good. Our defense really does not have the ability to make our corners look better than what they are. Reply Back to Top |
| And let's not all forget that Malcolm Jenkins has proven to be a solid CB. It's not ideal, but he could always move to CB if we have two of our top 3 guys go down. Reply Back to Top |
quote: If our CB's dont prove themselves this year, they cant blame it on the rest of the defense. Too much talent and youth has been brought in from last year and this year on the DL and LB corp. Reply Back to Top |
quote: None of those players can get after the QB aside from Tez, who rarely sees the field. Williams left our CBs on an island by blitzing the frick out of offenses, and failing. Our secondary is fine and still one of the better ones in the NFL, IMO. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
