| re: Any new rules in football this year? Was LSU only one to get celebration call? No jumping over players? AKA no increadible athletic feats allowed on punts/fgs Reply Back to Top |
| How the hell are you supposed to block kicks?! This is stupid! (Not being able to jump over players to block a kick). We'll probably be the only team in NCAA football that has this called against us, and it'll be in the Auburn game, most likely. Reply Back to Top |
| Blocking below the waste rule change is a bit scary. Certain teams will take advantage of this and play "dirty" but within the rules. No jumping over players on punts? Really? Isn't there a similar rule dealing with field goal attempts? I've only seen that penalty called one time EVER and it screwed LSU by allowing auburn to attempt extra point again when missed on the first attempt, but we had our hands touching our linemen's backs(a common practice). Great time to make an example. Oh yeah. Swag penalty. Thanks for that too. Please keep making examples of us. It's not like we are playing for championships or anything. Reply Back to Top |
| Lol Tom u beat me to it. Well played Tom. Well played Reply Back to Top |
| I think you missed a rule. I think all tutu's must be the same color and cannot be shorter than two inches above the knee!!!!! Reply Back to Top |
| Just to remind everyone... Wing was the only one to get it ...and vs Auburn years ago on the extra point block/do over bull shite... LSU was the only one to ever get that called..then they scrapped the rule. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I don't like the idea of too many rules to begin with, but it is crazy how many helmets you see on the ground these days. When I played ball that chin strap was so tight the good lord himself would have had trouble getting my helmet off. There is no reason to see a helmet rolling around every other play. The rule I could do without, but I guess that's the only way to make sure these guys are strapping up.... Reply Back to Top |

| In 4 years of 5A football, I remember one helmet legitamitely being knocked off. They're coming off because prima donnas aren't strapping the damn helmet on properly. I hope this rule stops that stupid shite. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Helmets come off. If a qb needs to come out of the game for an important play that could make a difference in the game. Dumb rule. Reply Back to Top |
quote: This. You want to know why helmets fly off? Watch the LSU App St. game from 2008. Armanti Edwards had a deadly combination of the three biggest problems: 1) so much hair his helmet didn't fit properly; 2) didn't have his helmet correctly buckled; and 3) didn't have the helmet buckled tight enough. quote: quote: If it's for safety reasons, then why does it matter how they lost the helmet? Is a player whose helmet was ripped off by an opposing player somehow safer on the next play than one whose helmet came off due to some other cause? | They are going to soon have the QB wear a dress. In college & the prows. Reply Back to Top |
quote:I would guess that the exception for facemasked players is a disincentive to the other team to intentionally rip off a guys helmet just to force him out a play. I would assume that there would be time allotted (during the penalty assessment most likely) for the player to readjust his helmet, fix it, or whatever is supposed to be done during the mandatory one play out. Of course, that's applying logic, reason and sense to the NCAA rule change, so it's virtually certain that this has nothing to do with the rationale for the rule. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
