| She just needs to get over it and quit bitching. She's not in any different of a position than tens of millions of other people. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I'd be interested in knowing what her age is, what her degree is in, and how much debt she has I didn't know what the shite I wanted to do after high school. I only knew that I wanted a few years away from baseball. Instead of jumping into college and taking meaningless classes towards an unknown major, I went to work. Somethings happened and I was pushed out of a job that I hated, and since I had no post high school education and not much experience doing much else besides working in the auto industry, I turned to the oilfield. I put my time in working the field, and now have a nice office job with an amazing company. Oh, and no student debt. Having a degree probably would have saved me a couple years in the field, but I'm overjoyed with landing this job through my knowledge that I gained by working hard. You don't always need to have a degree. And my thoughts about what you asked initially. Those lazy fricks need to grow up and learn how to work and earn their way. | Student loan debt hits $1 Trillion...Occupy Student Debt wants it all forgiven and college to be free...what ever happened to personal responsibility? No one made people get into student loan debt...they chose to LINK Reply Back to Top |
quote: While I agree, all of this cheap money handed out by the government has led to a sky rocket in tuition prices. It is one thing for private schools to put you in 100k of debt, it is another for a public school to do that. Reply Back to Top |
| While I think she's an idiot, I'd get in line to have mine forgiven Reply Back to Top |
quote: Are the professors and buildings free at public universities? You want a good education you pay for it. Reply Back to Top |
quote: have buildings and professors gained so much value that they out-pace our increases in medical costs? ![]() Reply Back to Top |
quote: I'm all for the government getting out of the student loan business. If you can't afford college or get a private loan then go to work. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I don't think it's too much to ask these consumers to do a little homework and math before signing on the dotted line and getting money for college. If they're studying journalism and take out 80k of loans for a career that starts at 40k a year, they should realize its gonna take quite a bit of time to see any daylight. Just because you can get a degree in ballroom dancing and just because you can get student loans from the fed to study that, doesn't mean you should. Reply Back to Top |
| That chart is completely insane. Where is all that money going? Reply Back to Top |
| College is free, as long as you work scholarships. I didn't get a single needs based scholarship and I never paid a nickel in tuition until my last year in MBA school and that's only because I quit my GA position that was covering 3 grand in tuition to go for a better paying job. People who take out loans to get a shitty degree from an expensive college are dumb. Reply Back to Top |
quote: i am curious what the universities are doing with it, personally. i'm sure administrators and professors are robbing the coffers blind until this gravy train ends Reply Back to Top |
| Slow is just pointing out that the government through its lending practices inflated college tuition. I have a shite load of debt and my major isnt ballroom dancing. Decent job, trying to pay it back with all available means. This chick has one thing correct, the people I went to school with are no where near homes or children (im 27). Youre gonna see that argument come up a lot for people looking for a bailout. This post was edited on 4/25 at 10:35 am Reply Back to Top |
| So what, is she starving? She's basically just bitching that she has to work hard to pay for a better future. Get in line bitch. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Either she: A: Believes that people shouldn't be paid for proving a product/service (education), which would make her a hypocrite. B: Believes educators should be be paid, just not by her, which would make her a lazy arse dysfunctional leach. Either way, she needs to sit down and STFU. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Defined Benefit Pensions. That is all you need to know about where that money is going. Reply Back to Top |
I'm gonna go with quote: I for one am glad she has to delay having children. I wish somehow we could ensure that behavior continues for the rest of her child-bearing years. Reply Back to Top |
