Draft Talk: Centers Posted by blueslover Looking at players who might be a can't pass on BPA at #89. Team: Most of us were pleasantly surprised by dlP. How they view him long term we don't know. We also do not know if Tennant still has a chance for starter reps eventually. They traded to get back into the draft for him but he was beat out by undrafted dlP when Kreutz failed. Center is one of the easiest ones to grade. first, there is no way available Peter Konz, Wisconsin. Only one might warrant selection as BPA for the Saints- Ben Jones, Georgia A lot of experience, looks like he can play in the NFL but doesn't scream elite at all. I think Blake, Baylor and Zeitler, Wisconsin might warrant 3rd Rd consideration but don't see them being BPAs at all. All you center fans out there have anyone else? Reply Back to Top

Kind of off topic but i herdon the radio he is the prototype long snapper. Other guys to keep an eye on David Molk michigan Won the Remington award 2011 4-5 round Garth Gerhart arizona state Can play c or g 4-6 Reply Back to Top
Garth Gerhart, C/G, Arizona State Height: 6-1. Weight: 305. 40 Time: 5.42. 10-Yd Split: 1.81. Bench: 25. Arm: 33 3/8. Hand: 9 5/8. Projected Round (2012): 4-6. 4/6/12: Gerhart is not the most athletic center. Although he didn't impress at the Combine or the Senior Bowl, but Gerhart has some developmental potential. He gives relentless effort. Gerhart played well for Arizona State this season and improved his stock significantly. He was effective when pulling and opened up holes in the ground game. Gerhart also isn't afraid to get physical and fights through the whistle. He is a better run blocker than pass blocker. Gerhart needs to improve his awareness and get his head on swivel in pass protection. He struggled against Boise State and defensive tackle Billy Winn. 8/20/11: The younger brother of Toby Gerhart, Garth Gerhart found a home at center in 2010 and was an All-Pac-10 honorable mention. He started 12 games last season, after starting two at center in 2009 (and also started five 2009 games at right guard). Gerhart could be one of the better centers in the conference, but he needs a strong season to get drafted. Reply Back to Top
I think it's a smart kid who pursues being a long snapper. Less competition and maybe the most secure spot you can get on an NFL roster. Plus, ya can do it into your 40's ala Jason Kyle. Just don't sell investments on the side. Reply Back to Top
