This episode was uneven and a bit surreal. Roger is forced to throw 3 grand at one of his employees to cover a frickup. Joan and Greg separate just like that and that dream sequence.

meh

I really don't think that was the point at all. It's just showing some of the ackwardness and unease that came with the adjustment to integration. Obviously Peggy went out of her way to invite her into her home and tried to relate to her. But subtle prejudices remained. This was almost 50 years ago, after all.

There was another line after that.

I defintely have that "they're fricking with the formula" vibe. It feels a bit different. Still good television.

Peggy likes to think of herself as progressive, but she's just a bigot like everyone else

See my post above. It's a realistic depiction of a forward thinking person encountering her own prejudice. I don't think that really qualifies her as a bigot--at least not the same way that Roger or some of the other characters are.

I don't care who it is, if I'm letting someone I don't really know that well stay in my house, I'm going to be a little nervous. Plus Peggy knows she's down on her luck so to speak. That's a huge temptation in front of her, especially when you told her earlier that you have a lot of cash.

I always leave my wallet lying around whenever I'm home or visiting my parents or brother's family. They all think it's the oddest thing.
