re: Favorite covers of Beatles songsquote: Bobby Parker -- Watch Your Step The opening riff may remind you of a Beatles song... Parker himself was interviewed about it in a great documentary called John Lennon's Jukebox "Moby Dick" by Led Zeppelin also owes quite a bit to to "Watch Your Step", but then Zep stole so much it's hard to keep track of it all... quote: Nice guitar and bass work on that. Especially the wah-wah on the solo. Not a fan of the vocals, however. Reply Back to Top |

| A hard weeks night I'm glossing a couple of friends but they did a tremendous job on these Beatle recreations. You can dl the album free on their site, or just listen to the songs on the player. I tell them over and over they need to make it a live show and travel the circuit. quote: Eleanor Rigby cover -- Kawnar & P.D.A. This post was edited on 4/7 at 4:08 am Reply Back to Top |

| The Joe Cocker one was my favorite I was coming to post. He owns it. Another one that I think superceded the original is Earth, Wind, & Fire's version of Got To Get You Into My Life. Reply Back to Top |

quote: Easily my favorite. I always wondered how the song was received at the time of release. A black singer and a hippy covering a Beatles tune that was still topping the charts when the Beatles were at the height of their popularity...and they did it better imo. According to Eric Clapton, that cover indirectly lead to one of my favorite albums, Derek and th Dominoes, which features the best guitar play ever recorded on any album and one of the most recognized opening riffs in music history - Layla Reply Back to Top |

| There are so many great covers of Beatles songs, but that is to be expected when you have such great songwriting. Every artist has their own interpretations of Beatles songs, but this is one of my favorite songs by the Beatles, and one of my favorite artists covering it.
