| it's gonna be a huge disappointment if nothing goes down. ...damn, would love to get budinger and patterson This post was edited on 3/15 at 9:59 am Reply Back to Top |
| I would also like Patterson and either T Will or Lee. Sounds like the best return for Kaman since we would get 2 young players with potential. Reply Back to Top |

| Celtics interested in Kaman... The Boston Celtics are very much in the market for a center and will certainly look to make a move prior to the trading deadline. But if the C’s fail to land a much-needed big man prior to tomorrow’s 3 p.m. deadline, all is not lost in their quest to add size. New Orleans center Chris Kaman has been on the trading block for a while, with the asking price seemingly dropping by the minute. He’s earning more than $14 million this season, which as you can imagine, has scared off a number of potential suitors. If the Hornets can’t move him via trade, you can anticipate talks about a buy-out to begin soon. That would allow him to become a free agent and sign with any team of his choosing. According to a league source, Boston would be on his short list of potential destinations. “You look at what they need and what he brings to the game . . . it would be a great fit, it really would,” the source said. “But a lot of things have to happen, and not happen, before that can come about.” LINK Reply Back to Top |
quote: If true this is the best we could hope for, but I find it really hard to believe this is Houston's way of thinking considering how little other teams have been willing to offer Reply Back to Top |
| I think it's a real possibility that nothing happens. That's okay with me. It's not that any realistic trade at this point is going to make a difference in the near or long term. Reply Back to Top |
quote: They want out from Scola's long-term deal for one. On many of the others, they've already rescinded their options / qualifying offers on them to create cap space for next year and are hoping to get something for them. Reply Back to Top |
quote: This is where the credibility went south. They seem to be trying to portray it like the Hornets are trying to rid themselves of Kaman, when they're really just trying to get some value. How would buying him out do anything positive for the Hornets? Reply Back to Top |

quote: Man I wish we could have traded away an all-star PG for a disgruntled chump, a bad contract, and a streaky scorer. David Stern is trying to kill the Hornets. Reply Back to Top |
| Indiana has acquired Leandro Barbosa from the Raptors. Depending on who they gave up, this may eat a lot of the cap space they'd potentially be using on Kaman. Reply Back to Top |
quote: I have the same gut feeling. It seems that a lot of teams are being very, VERY frugal this year. No one wants to upset the balance or take major chances it seems. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Kaman for Celtics 2013 first round pick. I see a big drop off next year for them. Probably won't be a lottery pick but there is a chance. Reply Back to Top |
| ya, that's a real dumb article by Sekou Smith Reply Back to Top |
| The Houston scenario would be nice but it doesn't work with the salaries. We'll offload him for a pick or just keep him for the season. Reply Back to Top |
quote: We may have to take on some pieces like Thabeet or Flynn to match salaries for the guys we want, like Patterson, Lee, Budinger, etc. Reply Back to Top |
| The terms on the Indiana trade is that they send a 2nd to Toronto for Barbosa, which means they no longer have the cap room to take Kaman unless they send someone back. Reply Back to Top |
| Yeah Indy is out. Looks like Houston is our best bet. Reply Back to Top Refresh |
