I don't get it. Huckabee would have run away with the nomination. He made a good showing last time and picked up momentum as the campaign went on. He stayed visible. He would have been the non-Romney that would have been electable. I really lost a lot of respect for him. I heard somewhere that he liked his like, TV show, and beach house in Florida. Very sad. Whether you liked him or not, can you deny that he would be winning the nomination at this point? Reply Back to Top |
| The correct answer is Pawlenty would have smashed everyone in this field. But he decided some skewed Iowa straw poll people can bus in supporters for was enough to prove he had no chance. Reply Back to Top |
| Pawlenty wouldn't have won anything. Guy is as dull as Romney and not particularly a social conservative candidate. Reply Back to Top |
| Huckabee is another theocrat. Santorum brings more than enough of that crap. Reply Back to Top |
| No, Huckabee had no chance. Pawlenty either. We already have too many Ex-whatevers running. Chris Christie should have run he's a sitting governor and would have generated enthusiasm. Reply Back to Top |
| Huck is a socialist, that's why. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Yeah, living a comfortable life is really sad. I don't know how you could fault him for not wanting to be president given his current awesome job. quote: I do like him, but I don't know that he would have gotten the nomination. Santorum would have dropped out months ago. Reply Back to Top |
Jesus Christ, if you think the French look down their noses at us NOW... ... imagine their superior snickers if we elected the real-life version of "Hee Haw" into the White House. My favorite part is the blue elbow patches This post was edited on 3/14 at 10:34 am Reply Back to Top |
| Huckabee made the judgement that he could not compete based on money support. He did that once. Once is enough to figure it out. Reply Back to Top |
| Nothing like a liberal judging someone based on their appearance instead of intellect. The party of tolerance strikes again. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Huckabee is not that at all. Santorum isn't either, by the way. I don't think that you know what a "theocrat" is. That accuasation is just wrong. Reply Back to Top |

quote: To most on this board anyone who is openly religious is a theocrat. I always found it funny how some here seem more upset about Santorum and his religion than they are of Obama who spent 20 years in Rev. Wrights church. Reply Back to Top |
quote: Because he would have had to split the social con vote with Santorum. quote: What has changed with Huck since 2008 that makes you think he would be winning the nomination this year? Reply Back to Top |
quote: He started slow and did not have the support of conservatives at the beginning. That all changed by about the midway point of the primary process and Huckabee was doing better at the end than McCain was. McCain limped into his own convention and few were excited about him. That is why he had to pick Palin. This time around, Huckabee would have had the name recognition and would have started off much better. All of the early polls last year had him at or near the lead. If he would have entered the race or stuck around, he would be getting almost all of the Non-Romney vote and Santorum would have dropped out after getting beat in Iowa. Reply Back to Top |
