FACT: trent transferred green to the left coast to begin laying the groundwork for a pipeline of tall athletic former volleyball players to funnel their way to BR.

unless someone transfer I think I would only sign one wing player to go with Morgan this year and get 2 post guys, one can be a guy who can play the wing some. With Hickey, Stringer, Isacc, Morgan, Turner and another wing that should be enough. You can sit someone with out hurting the team.

Those guys are all guards. I think Shavon Coleman is more of a 3/4.

at 6'5 6'6 playing the play may be a bit much you think.

He's not a 4, but he has a big frame and long arms. He could probably guard some 4s in the SEC. I'm just saying he's probably a 3/4, while Ralston Turner is a 2/3 and Stringer is a 1/2.

Saw Malik Morgan tonight destroy Mansfield. Kid is smooth, can pass... pretty solid athleticism and shoot from anywhere. One Word... SMOOTH.

Can certainly play some one...

Little Geert is an a no-brainer. We should try to sign him no matter who else signs. He and Morgan may instantly be the best wings on our team. I just hope there is some miracle big coming in that we don't know about. If not, this may be the smallest roster in the SEC next year.

When determining positions, one key factor is who can they guard? Andre Stringer can guard opposing point guards and can play back-up minutes at the 1. That is a fact. When someone is a combo position, they are usually stronger at one position than the other. There is no doubt that Stringer is not a strong point guard and you may not like him, but he is a 1/2 and his minutes on the court prove that.

I agree that we need to sign a big (or two), but we will have far from the smallest roster in the SEC if we don't. There are multiple SEC teams that don't have any players the size of Hamilton, or even O'Bryant.

1) Stringer has been a better facilitator than Hickey the past couple weeks. He's really seemed to embrace the role of creating for others with penetration.

2) If we don't sign a big, we're really looking at guys like Courtney, Eddie, and Del Piero combining for 20+ minutes a game at the big man position. OUCH

I think people are assuming that, because there is no public information, that LSU will not sign a post player. I think that is a silly assumption.

LSU is definitely recruiting post players and will sign one or two.

Obviously they will but of what caliber. Will they be kids who are ready to come in and play?

I saw LSU's top two asst coaches at the State Semi's last night watching Malik. Two of them at Malik's game... why? I understand to support him but send one, let the other hit the trails and find us a legit big man.

I just don't think you make roster decisions treating him as a 1. I totally understand that he can guard the point, but he does not have very good court vision, which a 1 needs. If we expect to be a good team, he won't be playing point, so why shoehorn him into that position?

I've said before that he could be effective with a big point, but that is something that we sorely lack. Thus, he has to guard the 2 most of the time. I just think we need to sign another point guard. I don't see where we have the space unless Courtney makes big strides in the offseason.

There are also teams that don't have a single player under 6', much less 2 under 5'10". I'm talking overall team size. JOB and Hamilton are definitely a formidable duo, but that is all we have in the front court. The 3rd big off the bench would probably be Ludwig, who was playing the 2 a few nights ago...

Obviously Hickey is our point guard and will likely be a 4-year starter at that position. I am only saying that Stringer is a decent back-up, and will likely be a backup at the 1 and 2, because I expect him to come off the bench at both positions next year.

LSU should sign a legit point guard in the 2013 class to be the reserve and take over when Hickey is gone, hopefully someone like David Taylor or Kendal Harris, who both have some height.

If Norvel Pelle is the Mystery Big I would like a class of

Pelle
Coleman
Hammick
Morgan

That would be strong.

Looks like Orlando Sanchez is likely heading to Providence. Not surprising. As a foreign player, he is dependant on his coaches and advisors. In this case, they are all Big East folks.

-Word is that PC will be landing JUCO forward Orlando Sanchez. The 6’-9” Sanchez averages about 11 points and 8 rebounds per game for Monroe College. He played for John Calipari and the Dominican Republic National Team over the summer.
