Just wondering: When will American voters decide to elect responsible and competent grown-ups to Congress and the White House? That is all...

A crash is coming.

Fiscal responsibility might as well be considered in the same breath as murder.

These motherfrickers in the GOP and dem parties are doing a great job ensuring my life is going to be shitty as possible.

Someone like Ron Paul or Gary Johnson wouldve put a hell of a dent in it.

At times like these, I wish we could "dissolve" Congress, much as in the U.K. where the Parliament can be dissolved and new elections called.

What is this crash you speak of? I just don't see it. I don't have the confidence that you apparently have that a crash is coming.

When they actually have competent grown up candidates?

Never.

There are too many people who have too much to lose by trying to balance the budget and enforce resposible government. You'll never win an election by telling people that you're going to have to take something from them (citizenship, govt. assistance, medicare cuts, etc.).

Buckle up butter cup....it's going to be a helluva ride.

Or, maybe when we actually have competent grown up voters?

Not going to happen. I saw the catastrophe my generation was bringing with the '08 election. I was 18 years old and knew that if he got elected, shite was going to get rough for me. And, as a newly graduated, healthy, white 23 yo male, making ~50k/year, it is about to be just that. Thanks all you Tweeters and Facebookers... you've sure succeeded in bringing about all of that CHANGE.

fricking morons.

Sorry to tell y'all, but MSM has these imbeciles on a tight leash. I honestly see no way a competent individual gets into office and balances this stuff out.

Idiocracy... it's becoming less of a farce every dayyyyyyyy

I'll cede it's a little of both.

I was just talking to my roommate about this the other day.

We have any bit of information we need/want at our fingertips, yet the mediums for this information are rarely utilized to their fullest potential. Voters today are ill informed, party driven and extremely lackadaisical. When in doubt, vote party lines. It's sad really. Unfortunately the well informed and educated are for outnumbered by the voters as described above. This in turn leaves us with a majority voting out of ignorance and on the premise of simplistic and elementary promises by disingenuous candidates.

I for one believe a great majority of this country's issues can be traced back to poor/lacking education. I'm not some insanely intelligent genius, but I'm educated enough to know I need to do research to make a well informed decision. If every voter in this country exercised their opportunity to educate themselves during times of election, we may see an uptick in the quality of candidates that get elected.

That's a long shot, but it's better than the way people approach elections now.
