That's some damn fine applied science there.

Did you take photos or video? Ya'll made a spreadsheet or graph indicating the results to glue on the backboard?

Seriously, that's something to post online. A lot of people could really use that data.

z-max is the shite.

Its penetrates the metal and stays there.

We dumped some on some 1' plate steel to see if it would soak in like Carroll Shelby said it would.
The next morning it had soaked all the way through the steel.

Made a believer out of me.

bees wax works great for long term storage

Holy shit!

Do think the penetrant aspect of the Z-Max would wear off once the steel is "saturated"?

This would probably be wonderful for hunting weapons (only taken out occasionally).

Do you think it could cause problems with a conceal carry weapon that always has ammo in it? (creep into the primer or brass and fouling the powder?)

I wonder if it would frick up the finish on a weapon?

Any other thoughts? Saw their web page and I'm seriously considering trying this Z-Max stuff.

Looks good but what do you clean them with after they are painted?

Thanks bud!

I have actually only used it once since I painted it so I haven't cleaned it yet. But I would assume I'll use the same old CLP to clean it. Hopefully it doesn't take the paint off. But if it does, I'll just spray it again. The can was cheap.

Thanks for the kind words, Coastie.

We took pics, but no video. I'm pretty sure we did spreadsheets, as well, for both the report and the big board. I kinda "borrowed" the idea from something I had seen on a shooting site. We left out a few products expecting to include them in part 2 the next year, but we didn't have to do the follow up project the next year.
