If you want to fight a DKE that bad you should go to the DKE house. I'm sure there will be plenty of them there. I believe its next to Christ the King Catholic Church on the corner of Dalrymple and Highland.

Dekes liked to jump people when they had them outnumbered. One on one, they were pussies, without exception. Our chapter sat above them at football games and they knew better than to frick with us.

I'm always surprised when I run into one of them IRL who has actually made something of himself post-college. They're the exception. Most of them wasted the social and economic advantages their parents gave them.

Their signs are douchebaggy, but sometimes clever in a sophomoric way. This one was just stupid, however.

BTW, the story has been picked up by Deadspin. LINK

That's the game. People bit. Media bit. Frats won. It happens every day. People are like Lucy in Peanuts - always going around looking for something to be outraged about. And sure enough, other people provide 'em with plenty of reason... and so it goes.

I like DKE's crazy arse signs, normally, but this one was just a miss.

Probably sounded better when they were hammered and thinking-up ideas.

while it was retarded to make the sign, why did Kent State even respond at all? It makes them look petty and whiny, IMO.

Would advocates of free speech be fine if DKEs had made some reference to Birmingham being familiar with getting blasted last week?
Bet not. Some things aren't funny

Prior to the TCU game, we rode through the TCU campus, and there was a sign that said, "Les Miles is a Ho-Meaux". Where was the outrage???

0/10

Obviously there's a big difference between the two.

Well where was the outrage last week when their sign was joking about the massacres in Syria?

This is what DKE does. They are the trolls of the greek life at LSU. They'll put up another equally offensive sign this week and continue giving zero fricks.

So you're saying its ok to tell awful and offensive jokes as long as the people you're offending don't hear it?

If you seriously can't see the difference between the two then I don't know if there's any way to have a serious conversation about this.

Either 20 year olds today are different or I was raised differently. When I was 20 I might have chuckled if someone had suggested making such a sign, but then we would all have had enough common decency to realize it was in poor taste and even if we thought it was funny, we should keep it to ourselves.

Toe that is the issue- the lack of respect for common social mores and decency in public. Inside the house who cares how repugnant you are. But when you step into public you at least out on a public display of decency.

Of course the good news is as long as they keep pulling crap like this they self-identify as idiots who are not worthy of being accepted in public life.

I still remember the first or second game in 83 after Russia shot down a Korean Airline jet. It was flight number 007 and all 269 people were killed.

The dke banner read something close to:
Russia Wins!!
Korea 0 Russia 07

It may be a rumor but I was told the dke's actually own the land their house sits on and the rest of the fraternities are on long term leases. That would probably give the university a little less ability to control them, if true.

I don't know what DKE's property status is in comparison to other LSU chapters, but the University has shut them down and kicked them off campus in the past.
