Uh and Marvel wasn't?

List of crappy Marvel movies:
Ghost Rider 1/2
Daredevil
X-men 3... and 1
Fantastic 4 1/2
Hulk
The Punisher 1/2
Eleckra
Spider-man 3
Origins Wolverine
Blade: Trinity
Iron Man 2/3
FA:Captain America... yes it is a crappy movie
Thor... yes it is a crappy movie and the worst out of the Avengers films. But I'm not getting into that or I'll rant for 4 hours. That being said I do think the new one has promise.

And as far as Marvel went in "setting up the scenario," they showed a cube in Thor for one second and said, "oh, oh, look, look, that's important." Then made it the weapon in FA:CA

Also this statement:
quote:

Marvel HAD to do it that way though because almost no one outside of the world of comic book readers had heard of characters like Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, and Black Widow before.

Is actually true. Why? Noticed that most of those movies that I listed, Marvel/Disney doesn't own the movie rights to. That's why Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are not to be mentioned as mutants in Avengers:AoU and X-men:DoFP can't mention the Avengers. The Avengers is the only thing Disney and Marvel had left it the bag. Why? Because Fantastic Four, X-men, Spider-man have always been more popular than anyone from the original Avengers.

You are reaching on half of those films, and the cube from The Avengers was very prominent in Captain America: The First Avenger and not just shown in Thor for 5 seconds.

I think he can pull it off

Don't know how many they've had (at least two), but I watched the Wolverine movie with Ryan Reynolds and it was surprisingly solid.

Thor

Disagree with all of these. None of them blew me away, but I was satisfied with all of them and Downey was good enough to improve an otherwise subpar Iron Man 2 and a should-have-been slightly above average IM3.

Captain America is flawed but very good.

Was thinking about who would make the best options for older Batman. Jon Hamm would be great and has mass appeal, but how would you all feel about my sneaky pick, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Magic City, The Watchmen, Weeds)?

No Jon Hamn as an Elder Batman.

Either way...for every bad DC film there have been at least 2 or 3 bad Marvel films. Iron Man and The Avengers were the only two critically successful films from Phase One. The others received average reviews at best.

They could have done worse.

No, he really isn't. The vast majority of the films on that list are rotten. I disagree with his opinions on X-Men 1, Captain America, and Thor however.

Really? Which ones? I was even being generous by not mentioning ones that don't hold up even after only ten years.

The general audience doesn't give two fricks about reviews, especially when it comes to superhero properties. If it makes money, that's all that matters to Marvel, Sony or DC.

Interdasting.

He'll either really blow people away or just really blow. There's no wiggle room here

Agreed. He's built up a ton of goodwill, and really rehabilitated his career as a director. I can see the appeal of playing batman, and that sweet Justice League money, but he risks bombing it. I'd happily go on being a legit director if I were him.

Not really, they don't have much of a streak of films to begin with.

That's ridiculous.

Secondly, most of those are not the Marvel Movie U.

The Marvel Movie U has been across the board far better than average.
