Wife's xterra 07, drivers side window went out. Only have 70k on it, and I don't want to get a car note.

On the ones I replaced on a Ford the motor was only about $100 bucks. I was able to get a few videos on youtube to help me out, not too bad, maybe an hour of labor.

Probably $300 to $500 for a shop to replace if I had to guess.

check the switches first if you have not done so already

What?!? I called a few places for my Tahoe and it was $350-$400! Needless to say I put that window up by hand, chocked it and put tape over the switch!

Your considering financing a new car because of a window motor?

Do more research, its usually regulator not motor. Part prices can range from $50 (my work van) to $700+ for convertibles.

About $250 - $300 at a shop. Buy one online and do it yourself for between $70 and $100. Takes about 30 minutes or so for a first timer.

Call or go to napa's website, I find it hard to believe a motor is that much. On my Ford the one from the dealer wasn't even much over $100.

Had one go out a few years ago on my GMC Sierra.
Bought a new set up at the local parts place. The part cost $109 and the glass shop charged me $45 to change it. That one went out three years later. Bought one on ebay for $29 and changed it myself for free this time.

Careful doing it yourself, opening a door panel can end in a disaster.

Don't get that. It is most likely the regulator that is the problem. Use the internet and get a regulator/motor combo for like $50 or so.

It is not a hard fix to do it yourself.

hijack coming

my maid's 2nd personal assistant's footman has a 2006 xterra that the window sticks in the down position. bump the door or slam it with the switch in the up position, and it works. any suggestions?

my car is a BMW-mercedes-bentley-maybach hybrid

I'm in the process of replacing the one on my TL. Took me about 45 minutes to get the old one out. I'm installing the new (used) one that cost me $85 after work today.

window switch lists at $162.17 if it's bad. pull out the bezel that holds the switches. unplug the right and left switches and swap them. that way you can determine if it's a bad switch. if it still doesn't work....

listen for the motor, it should hum or click. if it doesn't, it's the motor. if it does then...

buy a regulator. in the exterra, the regulator is a cable driven one and it's kind of a pain in the ass. spend the money and get someone to fix it for you.

Get silicone and spray up and down the tracks and see if that helps first

Would WD40 be an option?
