Jeep Wrangler Owners: Your experiences?
Posted by alabamabuckeye on 7/16 at 3:12 pm
I test drove a 2012 Unlimited today, and really liked it. I will be in the market for an SUV in a few months, and the Wrangler looks like a good choice. Any advice on what to look for when I am ready to buy, or other SUVs I should look at?

jeeps suck for everyday drivers, if you get a jeep, it should be a toy. They are good for that.

ac problems

learn how to fix things yourself on the jeep and it will save you a good bit of money

All of my experiences except for driving from CT to LA were great.

I only got rid of it because I have a child.

I had a Sahara

Did you have AC problems on an older model? I thought I read on here that Jeep got its shite together in 2011.

Husband has a 2013 Rubicon Unlimited and he LOVES his. I'm about to buy one myself in the next month or so. Can't wait. They are fun to drive. We do lots of outdoor stuff so it makes sense for us to have one. Not a vehicle to get if you want something that feels "plush" on the inside. I like that you can hose out the interior of them for easy cleanup(there is a plug in the floor where you can pull to drain out any water). Great vehicle if you have dogs as well.

I got one for a toy but made it my main ride.

Not the best for long trips but mine was reliable.

I have a 2 door 2011 with about 38,000 miles. Haven't experienced any problems. The 4 doors look like chick vehicles though.

How many miles do you put on it a year?

I have a 2011 jeep wrangler unlimited Sahara and it is perfect. Pretty cool owning my dream car at 21. Never had a problem with it. Buy it and you won't regret it.

I hope to have a couple of them as toys when I'm older

Maybe the older models do. From 2012 on they have the pentastar engine in them. Better gas mileage and hp. My husband's 2013 Rubicon Unlimited rides MUCH smoother than his 2008 Wrangler he had previously. In the 5 years he had the wrangler he never had any major issues with it either.

My brother has one and he loves it but in the 2yrs he's had it it's been in the shop several times. Last week a linkage on the transmission broke.

How does the jeep help with outdoor stuff? I mountain bike, but those on the back or in the back of my 4runner, kayak (roof), and camp (lots of cargo space). My dad has an 73 CJ-5 that we drive out in the woods just for fun, but I can't understand how it would be good for any of those rides.

When I go camping with my buddies, we never take my friend's jeep because there is no room.

I had a 98 wrangler sport. It was the biggest piece of shite I have ever owned in my 45 years.
