Brace yourself folks, the premium increases that they have been warning us about that were in the distant future a few years ago or less than 6 months away. I got the letter today which looks to be addressed to everybody in the system.

Basically goes on to justify ( and rightfully so not their fault) how everybodies premiums are without question have to go up and how under the ACA everyone will be forced to get an updated plan with all essential services. So what if I am a young healthy 20 something year old who just wants to pay for catastrophic high deductible coverage with low monthly premiums?

Well starting Jan 1 2014 I am shite out of luck. It also goes on to explain how another reason increases will happen accross the board is because of ACA, insurance companies can no longer vary rates based on health. The companies will be forced to charge everybody the same rates, no matter how sick or how healthy an individual is. Awesome guys! You made it totally fair for everybody now!! Here is a direct quote, " as a result, people will be grouped together and healthy consumers will help offset the costs of unhealthy consumers." Wait till the OT gets wind of this, the backlash agains the overweight is gonna be nuts!

Oh did I mention their is going to be 8 new taxes and fees that will directly affect premiums? Oh yea friends, its almost here. And really this isn't new information at all. This is everything they tried to warn us about before Washington forced it down our throats against the will of the people. Everybody get your lube and get ready, cause the American middle class is about to get prison raped! Oh yea your right I am definately mad!!

Sounds like a typical group plan. Most people don't pay attention to it because their employer pays the bill. What you're describing is probably going to impact only those who purchase individual non-group policies. It's going to be a godsend to those with chronic health problems who otherwise are uninsurable. Consider that you could be one of them in a nanosecond if you break your neck in a car wreck.

And quadriplegia is what percentage of those with chronic health problems compared to slovenly gluttons who smoke and drink and are diagnosed with all manner of orthopedic issues, diabetes, heart disease, pulmonary disease, etc.? This is bull shite and you're going to find a way to rationalize it because your god rammed it through.

So if that is how insurance works why is it going up in price but still leaving 30 million unemployed? And if more healthy people (younger people) are forced to pay in why are rates increasing?

Won't matter. Pravada will spin this as the fault of employers, insurance companies, the "rich", et al... for the Neo-Com Democrats. The usual sycophants on here will 'play on the deck while the ship sinks'. Nothing but collapse will reverse this course of destruction we've been on for decades. Once the idiots of the O-T figure it out it will be in total collapse and too late.

Should we say "FORWARD" ?

F'k PROGRESSIVISM !

BS hack, insurance woeks upon the basis of studied risk upon the groups to be insured across the spectrum. If you have a hig auto rate it is based upon factors in which you fit, simililarly with life and health insurance being based upon factors into which the client fits. So stop lying to back up your vision of utopia granted from the God you worship.

People paying into their own plan is part of how insurance kinda works, too. At least it used to be.

Obamacare will only help insurance companies by forcing present customers to buy more insurance (forced covered of birth control for example) and subsidizing the premiums of some people.

It is a major screw up.

The law forced my insurance company to lower my deductible from $5600 to $2600 and my premium went up almost $4000. I don't want to pay for a lower deductible.

They could have simply given the people who are not insurable a cash welfare payment to buy health insurance a lot cheaper than what this bill will cost the economy.

If you remember how this went down, Obama basically went to the insurance companies and told them what a great boon this would be for them. The caveat being, he would demonize them as being in bed with "rich Republicans" in order to gain sympathy with the voters for what he was doing. The underdog fighting for them. Be my whipping boy for now, and you'll get a handsome payoff. The majority of the country, except for the LIV, still didn't buy it, but they got it through Congress and John Roberts is a spineless prick. Of course "evil insurance companies" love this. They were in bed with Obama from the get go.

The insurance and pharmacy industries had asses in the seats in Nancys' office writing this abortion. If only we could see how heavily invested the actors(Demons) in both chambers of Congress rose to through the process behind the closed doors. That would give a measure of exactly the why of needing to pass it first came to be.

no - here's how it works.

You buy into a group plan. It's cheap because you're young.

Then the other members drop out. The group gets old, your rates go up. Now you can't get into another group because you went to the ER for what was maybe a heart attack.

Then you lose your job & can't pay so frick you go to Charity.

That's how it usta be

Remember the good old days when an insurance company could decide what they would cover?

Just so you know, health care/coverage is not the same as hazard insurance. You need to learn more about the healthcare industry before you start name calling.
