I heard a cool story in Omaha this morning

I talked to a guy at the site of the old Rosenblatt stadium. He saw my LSU shirt and he told me a story about a particular tree at that location. Seems there were several trees cut down when the stadium was demolished to make a new parking lot for the zoo. One tree was spared. An LSU fan or group of fans had that tree dug up and shipped back to Louisiana. This was the tree this fan always tailgated under at the old stadium. Sounds pretty cool to me.

If true that's awesome. If not it would be awesome.

Anybody have any idea how hard it is to move a large tree several hundred miles? Unless the tree was like 15 feet or smaller, I would be inclined to call this a new urban legend, albeit a cool one.

If this is true I hope this guy keeps his address a secret. Harvey Updyke does live in Albany. Would be a shame
If something happened to it.

I believe it. It's not that it's hard and several hundred miles
is nothing. It's just extremely expensive. I'm guessing
20K.

So where do you get your knowledge of the ease of moving large trees (live and intact) several hundred miles, and the cost associated with such a task???

How do you know it was a large tree?

What what if it was a medium /small tree that could have been hauled in a personal trailer?

This. And I get my knowledge because I'm educated.

It's not easy, but you can absolutely move a tree.

Hell, there are plenty of businesses that count on it.
