What dont you fricking understand??

You made the statement that the AVERAGE Tundra driver gets 15mpg. That is wrong. Then you cherry pick items after that statement is proven wrong. What does Ford have to do with the AVG Tundra driver? Does my gas mileage go down when I drive near a F150 from the years 2011 to present?

Same tired argument from you again and again. Doesn't change anything. I've explained it a fairly large number of times now, so I'm not doing it anymore. Enough arguing over 1 mpg. I'd hate to have to start using the ECoboost to make the gap bigger.

Jesus dude

At some point you two got into a gas mileage dick measuring contest, so he's comparing current ford mpg to current Toyota mpg.

Ford has nothing to do with what Mpg your Toyota gets. Just a comparison.

I love how the initial quote about MPG is excluded and only statements made AFTER the argument was framed to include Ford is mentioned.

A poster claimed that his 6.2L 4x4 got better gas mileage than a Tundra.

I asked which Tundra?? The biggest engine was a combined 15 at present.

Thib-a-doe Tiger replied:

quote:

I have owned an f-150 and currently own a Tundra. The Tundra is a better truck IMO. Those talking about the gas mileage don't know what they are speaking of and also don't realize that the 5.7 Tundra comes with a 4.30 rear end. Put that in some of those other trucks and see what kind of MPG you get. On a flat highway at 75 mpg, I will get 18.5-19 mpg in the Tundra.

THEN this statment was made:

quote:

Ok, I guess it's just some anomaly that my buddy with a 2012 Tundra Crew Max 5.7 gets 15 combined, and my 2012 F150 Super Crew gets 18 combined. And my truck does better than my BIL's DoubleCab tundra too. I just don't know what I'm talking about. EPA ratings and real world experience be damned.

Then

quote:

Well I could say the same and tell you that my average is higher than my buddy's dad's 2012 ecoboost. Where are we driving here? 4x4 trucks all around or some 4wd vs 2wd? The numbers can be skewed any way you want them to be. I don't know exactly what everyone gets, but I can tell you what I just posted about my truck is fact
Yea not cherry picking.

I get 16.2 combined in my 5.7. In BR traffic.

Whats complete horse shite is someone with a 4x4 6.2L claiming they get better gas mileage. Thats just not true in reality or on paper.

quote:

my buddy with a 2012 Tundra Crew Max 5.7 gets 15 combined

The way I see most people drive F150's, Tundras or any fricking pickup in louisiana I am suprised they even sniff 13mpg with a V6.

quote:

Anything outside of that is generally due to driver.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

quote:

What's your point? An average drive is gonna get 15 in a Tundra, and 17 an f150. At current gas prices and 1000 miles/month, that's a $25 difference per month in fuel. It makes a difference.

So you stated that the AVG Tundra driver gets 15 in response to MY statement about "Anything outside of that is generally due to driver"

But you get to frame the argument a day later about what MY statement was referring to? Interesting.

Eh, the Pirelli Scorpions on the optional 20s kinda suck. Luckily I got the Bridgestones on mine.

Jesus Christ you dweebs will argue about anything.

Who the frick buys a full size pickup truck and then worries about tires or mileage?

I have an F250 Super Duty because I need one, at that point the mileage is what it is, when I want good mileage I drive my Focus.

By the way I'll hook up against any TWO Tundras and pull both of them backwards until their engines explode, or I run out gas whichever comes first.

No one was arguing tires I think.

For the record I was joking about the tires.

I think arguing 5 pages on mpg is retarded.

Drive a truck you like and fricking be happy. Why the hell does it matter what someone else thinks about your truck or what mpg they get.

F150 and tundra will both do what you need them to.

All bull shite aside everything new ford has come out with the past two years is not proven yet. Lets wait till that factory warranty runs out and see how many start showing up at the repair shops. I'm hoping its more of the same from ford and they havent let me down yet. and FWIW the tundra has been out for six years now and have yet to see one. I'm already seeing the GM trucks with the 6l90e and the acadias with the 6t75e.
