16. Anthony Davis

Even though a few unlucky injuries cost the Brow a Rookie of the Year award, I'm focusing on a 19-game stretch he played this spring: 31.6 MPG, 16.1 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 1.7 BPG and 53.3% FG until … whoops, he got hurt again. (Stay on the damned court, Brow!) I love his Very Poor Man's McHale/Duncan low-post potential, and I love the roster flexibility that Davis provides: Once his outside shooting improves (and it will), he could be your small-ball 5 (like Chris Bosh in Miami) or your big-ball 4 (like Ibaka in OKC). You could win a title someday with the Brow as your second-best player. New Orleans was lucky that David Stern owned the Hornets and gave himself the no. 1 overall pick to get him.

Yeah I know I was really confused about that one. I think that ranking was based more on dirk never going to leve Dallas than him being the 12th most valuable player for the future. Similar to Duncan's high rating

So Blake Griffin is 11?

Yes. He put him at 11. Then wrote 5 paragraphs on why he's overrated

Think the Brow is rated about right. I don't think Simmons watched much of the Hornets this year because I do think Davis will be the best player on a title team.

That made no sense whatsoever.

3 is a little high, probably, but his bargain deal and the fact that he is unguardable means I don't mind too much.

seriously, how do you stop a guy that can pull up off a high PnR and hit 45% of his 3s?

No doubt. I love Curry, but if he's knocking guys for injuries, Curry can't be 3. He's also a terrible defender.

I'd probably have him in the bottom of the top 10

Paul should be higher. Dwight should still be top 10

That was awesome. Good times.

I think he put Griffin there because of what he believes other teams would trade for him. He is not saying he is the 11th best player in the league and his explanation of Griffin confirms.

So nobody caught this part?

the overall dearth of 2-guards — really, it's Harden, then Wade, then Klay Thompson, then Kobe if he ever comes back, then we're suddenly looking at the likes of DeMar DeRozan and J.R. Smith

Seemed like a lot of back handed compliments in there

I been preaching all of these points all year long.

Curry has had great seasons since he came into the league, hands down the best shooter in the NBA and he's only 25.. definitely deserving of insane trade value imo.

And with a very reasonable contract for the next 4 years. The only negative I could possibly see is injuries
