Wow, way to play along with the spin.

How on earth is this advocacy?

What is she advocating?

It isn't like Bengazi and Fast/Furious are non stories that she is trying to force.

Advocate?

By actually being a journalist and reporting on what's happening?

There words, not mine.

And considering neither of us are familiar with the report(s), I don't know how you can say she was just being a journalist... Unless you say Drudge was just being a journalist yesterday with 19 linked stories. Other people might see some advocacy in that.

To each his own... And they're the boss of a private company so they have the last word.

Their words, which you defended.

With a scarastic and condescending tone no less, as if agreeing with their stance is the only logical view.

You can't play that cop out card now.

My definition of journalism in this matter is a simple one: covering the story adequately. Something the Big 3 seem loathe to do.

THAT'S the advocacy in all this.

No one said they didn't have the right to make that call.

Just not the right to do so while expecting to still have any moniker of integrity.

If they want to sell a subsect of the news to a tailored audience because that's where the money is, more power to them.

But frick them and every supporter of them if they refer to Fox in sneering and demeaning terms for doing the exact same thing: but for the other side.

I thought the same thing. They don't even care to hide it. I truly believe it's a contest now in the press to see who can tweak middle aged white guys the most . It's the in thing to do
Its really sad why the zealots have done to the industry. Journalism is no longer an honorable, nor professional career.

“There is no such thing, at this date of the world’s history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.

By your thought process, if I find one journalist that states there is no bias in journalism/media today, then you will be in full agreement with Taxing Authority?

I don't disagree with TA at all...I merely point out that these intellectual prostitutes are not exactly a new phenomenon.

Yes, and no. Bias always exists.

But in the past there was bias both ways. There used to be a strong influence of conservative ownership that no longer exists today. Today... With only few exceptions bias in the media.... is liberal from the backshop, to the assignment desk, to the writers, to the on-air talent, to the producers, to the editors, to the ownership. Heck the janitors probably have a litmus test these days.

Its been a steady progression of liberalism and erosion of professionalism. When I worked in news, the writers were liberal as hell, but the old school editors did heir jobs and trimmed a lot of it out. Ownership (which in those days was pretty conservative) insisted on professional standards.

Now... With all the consolidation there are a lot fewer owners. And the conglomerate owners don't really care about professionalism. And now those hyper liberal writers are the editors with an ownership that either doesn't care or agrees with the agenda. You can see the result.
