The 2011 Celtics. The 2011 Bulls were 3-0 vs the Heat in the regular season too.

what does that have to do with 2012/2013 knicks?

According to PJ, the Knicks are going to beat the Heat. So no.

It's evidence that regular season success is not a good predictor of post season success. Did you not read the rest of the post when I said, "Regular season success isn't a good indicator for post season success"?

dominating the heat in the regular season does not project winning in the post season. pretty easy concept

I saw your edit but before I was about to go on a rant.

I'm a Knicks fan and although I don't see them beating the heat in a 7 game series...I do think that the Knicks will be competitive.

Insert Felton and Kidd for Lin and Bibby...
A healthy Shumpert, who although hasn't been able to score, still plays solid D...
JR Smith having the best year of his career...
Defensively, this Knick team is head and shoulders about last season...
Last year was near the bottom of the NBA in turnovers but this season #1 in the league...

The way Lebron is playing right now, the absence of Rose and Rondo is completely irrelevant.

Kige

He beat them the last couple years when their teams were stronger.

The Thunder were probably better last year as well... if the Heat win it is because they were just better than every competitor whether or not they were healthy

Kidd better be 2011 Kidd with Dallas if the Knicks meet the Heat.

No he doesn't... Hes slower and more hesitant (obviously because hes coming off the ACL injury) this year. Plus, hes limited offensively. Occasionally takes drives at the rim, but hes primarily a spot up 3 point shooter.

Yep, he is. But do you trust him against the Heat in a series?

This is more about Boston playing absolutely TERRIBLE offense in the 2nd half of both games in the series (Rondo out)

This is damn significant because it will limit the Heat's fastbreak opportunities if they don't turn it over.

I'll change my original statement in the OP.

I'll give the Knicks 1 game. Heat in 5.

I'm not sure why you think this. There's nothing to support this other than 2 playoff games against the worst offense the playoffs have ever seen. (I'm only slightly exaggerating.) They need Tyson get get healthy before I think they're even as good as last year. I don't think Kenyon's the type of guy to make LeBron second guess driving into the lane like Tyson.

I mostly agree with the rest of your post though.

Oh I get it so if the Heat win its because of their defense...but the Knicks win and limit Boston to 48 points TOTAL over 2 second halves and its not the Knicks playing solid D and making adjustments at the half...it's just that Boston sucks.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't understand that.

The knicks do have a good defense, but that doesnt change the fact the celtics already have a very anemic offense

The reason for the fast start the Knicks got off to this season was the defense. I mean they are 10th in the league in forcing TOs. They got away from that defensive intensity during the year but have since went back to the tough defense that has won them several games.

Maybe not ever, but certainly very close to the ideal scenario for the Heat (only Durant being out would be greater).

I'm not sure the Thunder make it out the West, maybe the Clipps-Grizz winner or Spurs give them(the Heat) a run.

or maybe JaVale Mcgee morphs into Dream 2.0...

I'm going to say this the nicest way I can... This has cry baby written all over it. Nobody would give the Heat credit for beating this C's team or for holding them to under 80.

You say they got their defense back together during the last month of the season, but their defensive ratings over the last month or so were +104. That's good for like 20th in the league over that span. They went on that run because their offensive rating went through the roof at close to 112.

So try not to take it so personally when the rest of us aren't as sold on the Knicks' defense because of two games versus the Celtics.

The Heat-Knicks series will go to seven games. I am most worried about this series...even more than any NBA Championship matchup the Heat would have faced.

Westbrook will be back by game 3 of the second series
