SEC doubled the number of first round picks the next highest conference had.

The vaunted Big Ten had just 1 picked

Yes. Bama is only getting better. Everyone else is getting better too. LSU/A&M/Florida/UGA may be here to stay, USCe will always be legit with HBC, but even after he goes as long as they get a good coach they'll stick around. UT/AU will be back. Arky/Vandy/Ole Miss will be solid. UK/Mizzou/State all suck though.

Using the SEC draft pick math, the ACC had 8 first rounders.

It seems to be widening from a north v. south standpoint, not just by conference - there were a lot of ACC guys taken. Not many northern schools are able to recruit well in the south (ND is probably the exception recently).

There was a quote several months back on LandThieves (the Oklahoma fan site), which best summarizes the level of competition in the SEC vs. other conferences (the Big 12):

"Iron sharpens iron. Butter sharpens nothing."

The SEC has become, for all intents and purposes, the NFL Development League. And though someday the title streak will end, the level of competition throughout the SEC shows no signs of slowing down. Since the title streak began, the SEC has had 10, 6, 8, 7, 10, 9, and 12 first round selections in the following NFL Draft.

quote:

The vaunted Big Ten had just 1 picked

And the irony of ironies is that the player's college coach (Bret Bielema) is now coaching in the SEC.

PAC 12- 5
Big 12- 3
Independent- 2
Big 10- 1
Big East- 1
Conference USA- 1
MAC- 1

Yeah the acc has their fair share of talent. It's why we should cherry pick their best school or two and start getting that talent to the SEC. The East coast up to DC needs to belong to the SEC. I think a school like North Carolina would become a football school fast if they joined the SEC.

He's making a stupid comment saying SEC is counting A&M and mizzou players in their count when they played most of their career in a separate conference. ACC having 8 by adding the Syracuse OL (cuse is joining ACC) and the ND TE (ND kinda joining ACC)

That's what I got it as.
