They are currently hitting the Swedish punk club circuit. Those Swedes will line dance to anything, apparently

those Europeans love some American music . Always find it strange to see the Tx/Alt/Americana acts playing over there.

Cajun music is pretty big overseas as well. A lot of the bigger cajun bands like LBR, Pine Leaf Boys, and Beausoleil have done international tours.

Robbie Fulks summed it up in 'frick This Town'

Keith Whitley. That's what's missing

ETA.

What I really think is missing from country is western civilization. With the upcoming loss of George Strait, mainstream country music loses its last cowboy. While plenty of guys wear cowboy hats, they're a part of the show. Lots of songs used to focus on Texas and rodeos. With the bulk of music coming out of Nashville, there are no elements of cowboys, therefore switching theme to the more mainstream "red red red red red redneck"

The way lyrics are presented have changed dramatically. The song Copenhagen was about a bad habit that couldn't be broken. Modern country says "chew tobacco spit"

Also, the assumption that men are men is missing. Good country artists don't need to talk about possessions, beautiful women, and jacked up truck 4x4's to be "country." These modern day pansies are trying too hard to display masculinity through trucks and other messages that aren't believable or relatable.

Country music as you remember it is dead and it's never coming back.

Country has never been about a band. It has always been more like pop than rock n roll in that aspect. Even when I was listening to country a lot the only ones I can remember were Alabama, Diamond Rio and Lonestar.

Country has always been more about the individual artist.

The actual country BAND

Pretty simple. There are no actual legit, talented, original, country bands. They don't exist.

I honestly can't tell if you're serious. Several have been mentioned in this thread.
