| Greer has been our best starting corner for years, especially last year. Being injured for a couple of games in two years does not make you injury prone, it just happens in the NFL. The only person to do well last season in the secondary was Greer, especially on goal scenarios. He has been the only bright spot in our secondary for a while now. He's not a big physical guy though, and Rob Ryan prefers to make offenses pay for getting yards in the air. Lewis fits the bill, and so would NA. My only issue with him is the potential price tag. | I've gone on the record saying in order to improve this defense, the Saints need to sign guys like Keenan Lewis (relatively small name---big game---relatively low price). Up & coming LB Victor Butler would be an example. I've gone on record saying the Saints don't need old stop gap possibly expensive big names like Bryant McKinnie (to fill offensive needs, especially OT, where Brees makes marginal-to-solid OT's look like All-Pro's). I've gone on record saying the Saints need to drop-down in the draft, provided there is a willing partner, and acquire as many picks as possible, draft mostly defensive players & hope half of them stick, start, or surprise. And yet, against my better judgement, I am on the Nnamdi bandwagon. Sure, he's older, hasn't played well recently, and could be expensive. However, just two years ago, he was arguably the west coast equal of Darrelle Revis. I'm hoping a change in scenery, a reunion with Rob Ryan & the system in which he once excelled, could return him to elite form, or at the very least, improve the Saints secondary. There's no way to predict that Keenan Lewis will perform as advertised. It's unknown if Greer & Nnamdi can return to form either. Nothing is guaranteed. But the Saints have not had success with rookie CB's owning a corner. This time the Saints should roll the dice on a guy, that just two years ago, owned an island. Reply • Back to Top |

| as of now, we still have a shot at picking up a DB that can play extremely well in a system he thrived in. The issue is that, is he past that prime or not? In regards to the draft, we've missed on so many defensive players in the past 6-7 years, and then you see teams like seattle who hit on such a high percentage of their drafts. | I just don't see the need for Nnamdi. We have Greer, Lewis, and PRob. While I would have loved to have the guy prior to inking Lewis, adding him now with only improve the CB position marginally, and when you factor in what we will have to pay him, it just makes it that much less attractive.
