Not sure how I'll actually do, but this is a WOD that's right up my alley. Feel pretty good about this one. I should get into the round of 15 TTB.

Going to do 13.4 tomorrow. Not actually competing in the open as I'm only in my 2nd month of Crossfit, but I do the WODs with the group. I like the AMRAP tomorrow but today was so brutal I may still be tired tomorrow.

Honestly though, I don't understand all of the hate for Crossfit. I understand that there is risk when you do a large number of repetitions with a reasonable amount of weight, but honestly I have never felt that my physical well-being was in danger. I think especially for those who aren't extremely versed when it comes to lifting (which of course everyone on the OT has mastered), it's actually a good learning environment because there are people helping teach the proper technique and watching you as you go through the WOD.

Although I do admit I get the cult thing to a certain degree. But really this is the first time I've actually enjoyed being at a gym (box, whatever), and I've made a lot of friends in the process. Everyone encourages each other to do their best. I guess don't I see what's so wrong with that.

After attempting these crossfit open workouts, Glutamine + BCAAs have become my best friends.

How'd 13.3 go?

Edit: Got my workouts mixed up hahaha. 13.3 was all the way through wall-balls and double-unders plus 9 Muscle-ups so that's 249. I was hoping for 250 but still pretty damn close.

Have fun. I wish I could go back to when I first started, it was so addicting. Its becomes more routine after a year or two.

Hmmmmm, interesting. I don't think I'll be in the upper echelon of this one. I actually don't have the slightest clue what to even set as my goal for this. Seven minutes is a damn short AMRAP.

When is everyone doing their's?

I am going to do it tonight. I got 209 on 13.3, I am hoping to get through the round of 15 but I think that may be ambitious.

I just watched the video of Julie Fouchier doing it and it looks like it is going to suck. I know I can do all the rounds of T2B unbroken but my strength is going to kill me with the clean and jerks.

Yea T2Bs are pretty much like DUs for me. I can rep them out in seconds.

Those clean/jerks, however, are going to be interesting. After I get past the round of 6 I'll be breaking them up for sure.

I should be good without having to break up the cleans until the 12 round. Of course I say that now, but we shall see. My biggest concern being no-repped/having to break up on the TTB. That killed me 2 years ago.

Did it last night and got 60 reps. My grip on the cleans was definitely my weakest point on this one. I am probably going to do it again and try to get at least 5 more reps.

The people that hate crossfit are just set in their ways and don't know what they're talking about. Really the only beef I have with it is the kipping pull-ups. That just seems like a great way to frick up your shoulders. The coach at my gym has recently started making people be able to do five strict pull-ups before kipping. It always worries me when I see some old dude that weighs 230 swinging from a bar with 45 year old rotator cuffs. But if your fairly young with any kind of upper body strength they're not gonna hurt you. Crossfit won't get you super jacked but it will certainly get you more fit, which is much more healthy than being some swolled up meathead.

Also, whoever started crossfit is some kind of sex addict I think. Does no-one else think its weird that people are always talking about going to do their WOD all up in some BOX while doing some chick named Cindy?

Anyways, I'm going to do 13.4 in about an hour and then going to get my cult on with all the people from my box at a crawfish boil. I don't really know what to expect from this one. I'm hoping to get well into the round of 12, maybe 15.

There is a video of him somewhere explaining why he named the workouts after women. He basicly said that anything that leaves you laying flat on your back out of breath and asking yourself what the hell just happened needed to be be named after a women.
