| re: Bailey granier 2014 LT Do not want. He has no bend in his knees. He's playing against smaller, high school ends. They stand him almost straight up every time he engages them. He then uses his size, not technique to win the battle. If he were to do that against an SEC caliber recruit they would engage and the DE would go right through him. Hes just a big kid, not a SEC O-Lineman Reply Back to Top |
| Bailey, I know you read TD, please use these comments about you as motivation man. PROVE THEM WRONG Reply Back to Top |

quote:That's the good thing about camps; our staff can see how well he takes coaching, and they can evaluate how well he works against quality athletes. I don't think he's a take now, but it isn't out of the question for him to earn an offer, especially since he's still growing into his body. Reply Back to Top |
As a CENTRAL Lafourche fan I can't believe I'm going to defend a South kid, but I will. This kid can play. We've played against Boutte, Granier, Clapp this past season and Granier has some work to do but he's not far off their level. quote: He does play upright a bit, but look at the kid's stance don't tell me he can't bend. I think alot of his upright play has to do with with him growing into his size. He was only 6'1-6'2 last season then come this season he grew to 6'6 or more. He's learning how to move at his size. Plus, he's playing OT but I think he'll end up being a Josh Williford sized OG with his hand on the ground which will give him better leverage. Go watch Williford's high school highlights, they look very similar except Granier's playing against quality lineman and Williford is playing against a bunch of 5'7-5'8 kids. quote: quote: This year he's blocked against Tae Thibodaux 6'2 240 SEC CALIBER, Godchaux 6'4 243 SEC CALIBER, Josh Boutte 6'5 305 SEC CALIBER, Eldrick Washington 6'2 255 Tulane Signee, William Moses 6'2 240 Nicholls State Signee. That's more quality lineman than many kids block against in high school. A bunch of those other kids in his highlight are good sized as well, but Granier is so big he dwarfs them. As for SEC Cailber recruits running through him. I didn't get to see the Plaquemine game so I don't know how well he did against Godchaux (assume they did ok considering SL put up 63 points), but I have the SL vs Westgate & SL vs Helen Cox game taped and I went back and watch them. He pretty much dominated Tae Thibodaux put him on his butt a few times, I think I saw atleast one of those clips in the highlight video. He also pushed around Boutte pretty well which was visibly frustrating Boutte. Although not SEC CALIBER against Helen Cox & Elderick Washington he pretty much dominated him. Posted by dstone12 on 3/17 at 12:50 pm to DownByTheBayou I don't get the whole "bama offered as bait" theory. Can someone explain? This post was edited on 3/17 at 12:51 pm Reply Back to Top |

| looks kind of soft in drills, and no flame intended on that. plus 135 incline bench at 6'6 340?? not saying thats everything, but an sec offensive lineman should be incline benching well over that. doesnt look very aggresive. Hope im wrong and if the tigers do offer, get a great offensive lineman. has the size Reply Back to Top |
| Talked to this young man's parents at the Rivals Camp yesterday in Houston. Really nice folks. Bailey seems like a good kid as well. The thing that really stands out that he needs to work on is his quickness. I could tell in the drills that he is knowledgable. He knows what he's doing. He's just not quick enough right now to do it. And the DLs were using that against him. He need to get with someone to help him improve in that area. Otherwise, he's a legit player on the OL. quote: I think the guy who said earlier that he could develop into a Williford type guard was right on point. I don't see him ever projecting to a high-level tackle prospect due to his lack of quickness. Problem is for him as a guard prospect for LSU there happen to be two really good Louisiana kids at that position this year who will hopefully sign with LSU This post was edited on 3/17 at 6:01 pm Reply Back to Top |
Posted by dstone12 on 3/17 at 8:18 pm to DownByTheBayou sorry to ask again, but can someone go deeper into WHY bama would offer a guy that they don't want, to get us to offer him, so we waste a scholarship. what if he accepts a committable offer? then bama loses a spot. it doesn't really make much sense, unless bama offers him a non committable offer (which i need educaton on that as well is too much being made of a bama 'bait' offer? Reply Back to Top |
| He does not have a committable offer from Bama. Reply Back to Top |
| People forget verbal offers and verbal commitments mean absolutely nothing until letters are signed. Reply Back to Top |
| You search 2242coach on youtube and select bailey granier look and see He is 6'7 at 347 at Houston rivals camp This post was edited on 3/21 at 7:14 pm Reply Back to Top |
| how do you know he doesnt have a commitable offer? Techinically no junior can commit till the offical letters are sent out on august 1st Reply Back to Top |
quote: Anyone can commit...an 8th grader can, a senior in high school can. its all verbal commitments though. no body can sign until the letters are sent out in february. what letters come out in august? Reply Back to Top |
quote: And its definitely a noncommitable offer...if he were to call them up now and try and commit he couldn't Reply Back to Top Refresh |
